Provided are an electrolytic copper foil, an electrode and a lithium-ion cell comprising the same. The electrolytic copper foil has a first surface and a second surface, which are analyzed by grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD), and each have an intensity of a characteristic peak of (111) plane denoted by I, an intensity of a characteristic peak of (200) plane denoted by I, an intensity of a characteristic peak of (220) plane denoted by I, an FWHM of the characteristic peak of (111) plane denoted by W, and an FWHM of the characteristic peak of (200) plane denoted by W. The first and second surfaces each have a ratio of (I+I)/(I+I+I) of 0.83 or more and a value of (W+W) of 0.80° or less. By controlling the features, it can improve the corrosion resistance of the electrolytic copper foil and further increase the safety of the lithium-ion cell.

Electrolytic copper foil and electrode and lithium-ion cell comprising the same

Electrodeposited copper foils are described having improved thermal properties. The copper foils include a drum side and deposited side where both sides have a roughness Rz lower than 2 μm and wherein, when the electrodeposited copper foil is subjected to a thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), the electrodeposited copper foil exhibits a primary weight increase of 105 wt. % when a primary temperature (T) is reached during the TGA, wherein the Tis in a range of 350° C. to 501° C. The TGA characterization comprises heating at a rate of 5° C./min and an air flow at a rate of 95 mL/min. Ultrasonic welding of the copper foils to nickel foils provides an excellent weld with low detachment providing a good mechanical and electrical contact for applications such as in lithium-ion secondary batteries.

Copper foil having excellent heat resistance property

A surface-treated copper foil includes a bulk copper foil and a first surface treatment layer. The first surface treatment layer is disposed on a first surface of the bulk copper foil and includes a roughening layer, where the outermost surface of the first surface treatment layer is a treating surface of the surface-treated copper foil. The material volume (Vm) of the treating surface is 0.06 to 1.45 μm/μm, and the five-point peak height (S5) of the treating surface is 0.15 to 2.00 μm.

Surface-treated copper foil and copper clad laminate

A surface-treated copper foil includes a treated surface, where the peak extreme height (Sxp) of the treating surface is 0.4 to 3.0 μm. When the surface-treated copper foil is heated at a temperature of 200° C. for 1 hour, the ratio of the integrated intensity of diffraction peak of () plane to the sum of the integrated intensities of diffraction peaks of () plane, () plane, and () plane of the treating surface is at least 60%.

Electrodeposited copper foils having adequate puncture strength to withstand both pressure application during consolidation with negative electrode active materials during manufacture, as well as expansion/contraction during repeated charge/discharging cycles when used in a rechargeable secondary battery are described. These copper foils find specific utility as current collectors in rechargeable secondary batteries, particularly in lithium secondary battery with high capacity. Methods of making the copper foils, methods of producing negative electrode for use in lithium secondary battery and lithium secondary battery of high capacity are also described.

Copper foil for current collector of lithium secondary battery

Provided are an electrolytic copper foil, an electrode and a lithium-ion cell comprising the same. The electrolytic copper foil has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. An absolute difference of the FWHM of the characteristic peaks of (111) planes of the first surface and the second surface analyzed by GIXRD is less than 0.14, the first and the second surfaces each have a nanoindentation hardness of 0.3 GPa to 3.0 GPa, and the yield strength of the electrolytic copper foil is more than 230 MPa. By controlling the absolute difference of the FWHM of the characteristic peaks of (111) plane of these two surfaces, the nanoindentation hardness of these two surfaces and the yield strength, the electrolytic copper foil can have improved tolerance to the repeated charging and discharging and reduced warpage, thereby improving the yield rate and value of the lithium-ion cell.

A package structure of a roll-shaped thin film includes a thin film roll and a buffer layer. The thin film roll includes a winding core and a thin film wound around the winding core, and the buffer layer is wound around an outer circumference of the thin film. An end portion of the buffer layer is covered with an inner surface of an end portion of the thin film, and the thickness of the buffer layer is in a range of 1-20 mm.

A surface-treated copper foil including a treating surface, where the root mean square height (Sq) of the treating surface is in a range of 0.20 to 1.50 &#x3bc;m and the texture aspect ratio (Str) of the treating surface is not greater than 0.65. When the surface-treated copper foil is heated at a temperature of 200&#xb0; C. for 1 hour, the ratio of the integrated intensity of () peak to the sum of the integrated intensities of () peak, () peak, and () peak of the treating surface is at least 60%.

A surface-treated copper foil includes a treating surface, and a peak extreme height (Sxp) of the treating surface being in a range of 0.4-2.5 &#x3bc;m, where the hysteresis loop of the surface-treated copper foil includes a first magnetization and a second magnetization when the magnetic field strength of the hysteresis loop is zero, and the absolute difference between the value of the first magnetization and the value of the second magnetization is in a range of 20-1200 emu/m.

An electrodeposited copper foil includes a bulk copper foil. When a weight of the electrodeposited copper foil is increased to 105.0 wt % during a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) performed on the electrodeposited copper foil at a heating rate of 5&#xb0; C./min and an air flow rate of 95 mL/min, a heating temperature of the TGA is defined as Tand in a range of 550&#xb0; C. to 750&#xb0; C.

Electrodeposited copper foil and copper clad laminate

Provided are an electrolytic copper foil, an electrode comprising the same, and a lithium ion battery comprising the same. The electrolytic copper foil has a drum side and a deposited side opposing to the drum side, wherein a nanoindentation hardness of the drum side is equal to or larger than 0.5 GPa and equal to or smaller than 3.5 GPa; and a lightness of the drum side is equal to or larger than 25 and equal to or smaller than 75.

Electrolytic copper foil, electrode comprising the same, and lithium ion battery comprising the same

Provided are an electrodeposited copper foil, an electrode comprising the same, and a lithium-ion secondary battery comprising the same. The electrodeposited copper foil has a drum side and a deposited side opposing the drum side, wherein at least one of the drum side and the deposited side exhibits a void volume value (Vv) in the range of 0.17 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;mto 1.17 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;m; and an absolute value of a difference between a maximum height (Sz) of the drum side and a Sz of the deposited side is in the range of less than 0.60 &#x3bc;m.

Electrodeposited copper foil and electrode, and lithium-ion secondary battery comprising the same

Provided are an electrodeposited copper foil, a current collector, an electrode, and a lithium-ion secondary battery comprising the same. The electrodeposited copper foil has a deposited side and a drum side opposite the deposited side. In a first aspect, &#x394;RS between the deposited side and the drum side is at most about 95 MPa, and the deposited side exhibits a Vv in a range from about 0.15 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;mto about 1.35 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;m. In a second aspect, the deposited side has a Sku of about 1.5 to about 6.5 and the deposited side exhibits a Vv in a range from about 0.15 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;mto about 1.35 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;m. The characteristics are beneficial to improve the quality of the electrodeposited copper foil, thereby extending the charge-discharge cycle life of a lithium-ion secondary battery comprising the same.

Surface-treated copper foils exhibiting a void volume (Vv) in a range of 0.4 to 2.2 &#x3bc;m/&#x3bc;mand an arithmetic mean waviness (Wa) lower than or equal to 0.4 &#x3bc;m are reported. Where the surface-treated copper foil is treated on the drum side and includes a treatment layer comprising a nodule layer. Such surface-treated copper foils can be used as a conductive material having low transmission loss, for example in circuit boards.

Provided are an electrolytic copper foil, an electrode, and a lithium-ion cell. The electrolytic copper foil comprising copper and chloride is analyzed by TOF-SIMS along its thickness direction to obtain a spectrum of a relative depth ratio as X-axis and a relative intensity of chloride versus copper as Y-axis. There is a chloride peak located between 20% and 80% of the relative depth ratio in the spectrum, and the chloride peak is characterized by a maximum relative intensity of chloride versus copper ranging from 0.77% to 5.13% and a full width at half maximum ranging from 2.31% to 5.78%. With above characteristics, the electrolytic copper foil has low density of copper particles, low degree of warpage, and good coating uniformity of the active material applied thereon, thereby optimizing the efficiency of a lithium-ion cell comprising the electrolytic copper foil.
