An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first communication circuit, a second communication circuit, a power transmission coil, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to connect an external electronic device and the first communication circuit, transmit power to the external electronic device, receive, from the external electronic device, a first signal including a control error packet (CEP) at a first time point, after the first point in time, count a first number of times a specified unit time elapses without the first signal being received, if the first number of times corresponds to a specified first threshold value, transmit, to the external electronic device, a second signal for requesting a second communication connection, and connect the external electronic device and the second communication based on reception of a third signal including a response of the external electronic device to the second signal.

Wireless charging method and electronic device supporting same

An electronic device may comprise: a battery; a charging circuit; a wireless power receiver circuit configured to acquire transmitted power wirelessly output from an external electronic device; and a processor. The processor may be configured to control the electronic device to: charge the battery through the charging circuit using received power acquired through the wireless power receiver circuit; identify at least one piece of information related to the charging, while the charging operation is performed; transmit a designated signal corresponding to suspension of the transmitted power to the external electronic device such that the external electronic device enters a wireless charging standby mode, in which the external electronic device holds the operation of outputting the transmitted power, at least partially based on the at least one piece of information; identify first situation information regarding the electronic device during the wireless charging standby mode; identify second situation information regarding the electronic device, in response to identifying the first situation information; and sense the electronic device being detached from the external electronic device based on the electronic device corresponding to the first situation information and the second situation information.

An electronic includes: a housing including a first plate, a second plate, and a side member; a display; a conductive coil parallel to the second plate and disposed between the display and the second plate; a wireless charging circuitry electrically connected to the conductive coil; and a processor operatively connected with the display and the wireless charging circuitry. The wireless charging circuitry receives a signal for wirelessly transferring power to an external electronic device from the processor, receives information about the external electronic device, receives a power control signal from the external electronic device via the conductive coil, applies a charging current of a first frequency to the conductive coil based at least in part on a request signal, increases a frequency of the charging current, compares the increased frequency with a first value, and adjusts a duty cycle of the charging current.

The at least one processor may be configured to, based on an operation mode associated with the antenna module, control the at least one switch to connect the first coil with the magnetic field controller, or to connect the first coil and the second coil in parallel and allow the first coil and the second coil connected in parallel to connect with the magnetic field controller. Other embodiments may be possible as well.
