A method of facilitating processing of pathology images involves receiving pathology image data representing a pathology image having a plurality of image regions, wherein the pathology image data includes, for each of the plurality of image regions, a respective plurality of representations of the image region including a first representation and a second representation, the second representation having a smaller data size than the first representation. The method involves, for each of the plurality of image regions: determining, based at least in part on the first representation of the image region, a first set of image properties, determining whether the first set of image properties meets first image property criteria, and, if the first set of image properties meets the first image property criteria, producing signals for causing the second representation to be used in place of the first representation. Other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed.

Processing pathology images

A method of facilitating image analysis in pathology involves receiving a sample image representing a sample for analysis, the sample image including sample image elements, causing one or more functions to be applied to the sample image to determine a plurality of property specific confidence related scores, each associated with a sample image element and a respective sample property and representing a level of confidence that the associated element represents the associated sample property, sorting a set of elements based at least in part on the confidence related scores, producing signals for causing one or more of the set of elements to be displayed to a user in an order based on the sorting, for each of the one or more elements displayed, receiving user input, and causing the user input to be used to update the one or more functions. Other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed.

Image analysis in pathology

A method for facilitating detection of at least one anomaly in a representation of a product having a pattern is provided. The method involves causing at least one processor to receive image data representing the product during processing, identify from the image data generally similar images representing respective instances of a repeated aspect of the pattern, each of the images including image element values, generate a set of corresponding image element values including an image element value from each image, identify at least one image element value from the set of corresponding image element values to be excluded from a subset of the set of corresponding image element values, generate at least one criterion based on the subset, and cause the at least one criterion to be used to facilitate identification of the at least one anomaly. Other methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer readable media are also provided.

Facilitating anomaly detection for a product having a pattern

The present invention describes a method, apparatus and computer program for detecting the locations of boundaries between different materials in a desired measurement volume. The apparatus uses at least one measuring probe, the electrodes of which are characterized in that they together form an assembly that differs from a straight line. In addition, a volume at a further distance from the assembly can also be observed by the assembly, so that measurements can be conducted remotely and, on the other hand, the apparatus stays unbroken in diverse measurement situations. By using the EIT-measurement and applying for example a so-called 1D-&#x3c3;-method or methods of machine learning, electrical conductivity distributions in the measured volume are detected. As a result, the locations of the possible boundaries between different materials or for example thicknesses of different material layers are detected.

Probe indicating intermaterial boundaries

In an exemplary method, repeated patterns are identified in a strip-like product. In the method the strip-like product is observed by at least one camera, and at least one digital image signal comprised of pixels is created for inspection. The image signal is searched for anomalies comprised of one or more pixels. A search image is created of any detected anomaly and its neighbourhood, and the search image is used to convolute the image signal being examined, creating a response image signal. The response image signal is used to determine image areas in the image signal being examined that are substantially similar to the search image.
