A bio-signal skin contact apparatus comprises a first layer, a second layer with adhesive for a skin contact, and a middle layer that is elastic and located between and in contact with the first layer and the second layer. Each of one or more hole structures comprise a first hole through the first layer, a second hole through the second layer and a third hole through the middle layer. The first, second and third holes of a single hole structure of the at least one hole structure are overlapping. A connector structure is partly within the hole, the connector structure comprising an extension, which extends above the level of the first layer, and a cavity for a sensor within the connector structure. The extension performs a bayonet connection with a counter-connector. The connector structure comprises an aperture through the extension in a level of the middle layer. A compartment is filled with flowable material within the hole structure, the flowable material being in contact with and covered by the first layer. The flowable material flows through the aperture into the cavity for the flowable material to become in contact with both skin and the sensor in response to tightening action of the bayonet connection that causes compression to the bio-signal skin contact apparatus at the connector structure and deformation of the compartment based on elasticity of the middle layer for causing pressure to the flowable material.

Bio-signal skin contact sensor apparatus and method of making skin contact

An electric apparatus of a bio-signal measurement system comprising a front part and a back part. The front part comprises a compartment at a back side of the front part, the compartment housing the back part when inserted therein. The back part comprises an electric circuit conductors and an extension plate, which extends to the front part within the electric apparatus. The extension plate comprises first electric contacts of the electric circuit conductors, the first electric contacts residing within the front part when the back part is within the compartment, the first electric contacts acting as counter-electrodes or electrodes of a front flap of a disposable patch electrode structure. The electric apparatus receives the front flap of the disposable patch electrode structure into a volume of the front part for forming a contact between the first electric contacts and the electrodes of the front flap. At least one of the back part and the front part comprises resin holes, and the compartment contains resin received through the resin holes, the resin immobilizing the front part and the back part with respect to each other and attaching them together.

Electric apparatus and its manufacturing method

A physiological measurement system comprises a digital module, which receives an analog bio-signal, a digital unit, which converts the at least one analog bio-signal into a digital signal form, and a first 5-pin-USB-connector, which output the bio-signal in the digital signal form. A bio-signal processing unit, which comprises a counter 5-pin-USB-connector, which is connected with the first 5-pin-USB-connector and receives the bio-signal from the digital module, and alternatively receives analog bio-signal in an analog signal form. The bio-signal processing unit distinguishes between the digital and analog signals and performs: an electric connection of the counter 5-pin-USB-connector with an input of an analog-to-digital converter circuit, an output of which is electrically connected with a digital data processing unit of the bio-signal processing unit, in response to detection of the analog signal received from the counter 5-pin-USB-connector, and an electric connection of the counter 5-pin-USB-connector with the digital data processing unit in response to detection of the digital signal received from the counter 5-pin-USB connector.

Physiological measurement system, bio-signal processing unit and method

A disposable patch electrode structure comprises a front flap and a main structure, which is attached to skin for a bio-signal measurement, the patch electrode structure feeding electrical bio-signals to a bio-signal device separate from the patch electrode structure. The front flap is separated from the main structure by a non-enclosing front flap cut, material of the front flap being thus formed as continuous material of the main structure. Materialistic connection of the continuous material between a rear section of the front flap at a non-enclosing side of the front flap cut and the main structure allows tilt of the front flap with respect to the main structure in response to rise of a frontal section of the front flap with respect to the main structure. The front flap is fully surrounded by the main structure. The front flap comprises contact electrodes at the frontal section, the contact electrodes being both connected with measurement electrodes of the main structure through conductors via the materialistic connection and connectable with counter-electrodes of a connector separate from the patch electrode structure.

Disposable patch electrode structure and connector of bio-signal measurement system, bio-signal measurement system and method of connecting with disposable patch electrode structure

An electrode apparatus is applicable on a skin with hair of a mammal for measuring an electrical bio-signal. The electrode apparatus comprises cylindrical chambers, each of which comprises a wall, which forms a cavity within the cylindrical chambers, a roof at a first end of each of said cylindrical chambers, a second end of said cylindrical chambers opposite to the first end being open, and at least one electrode. An elongated structure is located within each of the cylindrical chambers, and comprises a first portion parallel to a central axis of a cylindrical chamber within which it is. A first end of the elongated structure, the first end of the elongated structure belonging to the first portion, is attached to the roof. At least one second portion, each comprising a second end opposite to the first end, deviates from a direction of the central axis of a cylindrical chamber within which it is. The elongated structure rotatable in order to bundle hair when applied to the mammal so as to improve a contact of the electrode with the skin of the mammal.

Electrode apparatus and measurement method thereof

An electrode structure of a bio-signal measurement comprises electrodes adapted to be adhered on skin with an adhesive and separated from each other. A connector arrangement for an electric contact with an external electric device is on an opposite side of the electrode structure. Electric conductors are electrically connected with the electrodes and the connector arrangement. The electrode structure comprises attachable sections directly adjacent to one of the at least two electrodes, the attachable sections being adapted to be adhered on the skin. The electrode structure comprises a flexible and elastic loose section, which is free from an adherence to the skin, each of the attachable sections being located between an electrode and a loose section.

Electrode structure of bio-signal measurement and electrode system

A holder apparatus of a bio-signal device comprises a holder, which comprises a pocket for a bio-signal processing device, an extension with a hollow, the hollow and the pocket forming a continuous cavity through the holder, a connector, and an elastic seal with a hole. A shape of the elastic seal is matched with a shape of the hollow of the extension at an interface of the pocket, and the hollow and a shape of the hole is matched with a shape of the connector for sealing an interface between the connector and the holder while the connector and the elastic seal are within the hollow and the connector is in contact with the elastic seal. Sealant filler fills the hollow of the extension and is in physical contact with the connector, which is in the hollow against the seal, the elastic seal and the sealant filler allowing the connector to mate electrically with a counter-connector moved within the cavity in a direction from the pocket toward the hollow.

Holder apparatus of bio-signal device and method of assembling holder apparatus

A biosignal measurement system comprises an adapter for a biosignal measurement device, and an external support structure separate from the adapter. The adapter comprises tool-less connectors, which are repeatedly connectable to and disconnectable from their counter connectors of the external support structure, and a device connector, which has an electrical connection with the tool-less connectors and which has a connection with the biosignal measurement device that the adapter carries. The external support structure comprises an electrode support structure with electrodes and tool-less counter connectors, the electrodes and the tool-less counter connectors having an electrical connection therebetween. The electrodes form an electrical contact with skin for receiving the biosignal. The counter connectors are in electrical contact with the connectors of the adapter for transferring the biosignal to the biosignal measurement device through the adapter.

Adapter and external support structure for biosignal measurement system, biosignal measurement system and connection method

A polymer holder for a biosignal processing device, wherein a wall of the polymer holder forms a pocket, and the wall follows an outer contour of the biosignal processing device. The polymer holder has a first aperture for inserting the biosignal processing device into the pocket and removing the biosignal processing device from the pocket. The polymer holder includes an electrically conductive contact structure, which is in a wired electric contact with electrodes that receive the at least one biosignal, at a rear section opposite to the first aperture, and the electrically conductive contact structure is at least partly attached inside the wall. The electrically conductive contact structure is electrically connected with a counterpart of the biosignal processing device in response to an insert of the biosignal processing device in the pocket.

Polymer holder, electrode system and manufacturing and handling methods of polymer holder

A bio-signal measurement apparatus comprises tool-less connectors, coupling targets, a controllable coupling selection arrangement, and a control arrangement. The tool-less connectors are for an electric contact with a separate docking apparatus or an electrode arrangement. The coupling targets include a battery and a data communication unit that performs electrically a plug-and-play data transfer with the separate docking apparatus. The tool-less connectors, the number of which is three, are electrically coupled with the controllable coupling selection arrangement, which electrically couples all the tool-less connectors with only one of the coupling targets at a time in response to control from the control arrangement. The battery receives electricity from the tool-less connectors for charging the battery through the electric coupling caused by the coupling selection arrangement under control of the control arrangement during a first time window when the bio-signal measurement apparatus is connected with the docking apparatus. The data communication unit sends and/or receives data through the tool-less connectors using the plug-and-play data transfer based on the electric coupling caused by the coupling selection arrangement under control of the control arrangement during a second time window when the bio-signal measurement apparatus is connected with the docking apparatus.

Bio-signal measurement apparatus, docking apparatus and methods of their coupling

Disclosed is an electrode device for measuring an electric biosignal. The electrode device includes a flexible PCB (printed circuit board) having a flexible support layer and a trace layer on a first side. The trace layer includes at least two electrode pads for skin contacts and, for each electrode pad, a solder pad and a conducting trace forming a galvanic connection between the electrode and the solder pad. The flexible PCB further includes an opening defining a flexible, elongated cantilever in a central portion of the flexible PCB, having a base end connected to the central portion and a free end separated from the central portion. The solder pads are located at the free end. The electrode device further includes a connector component on the second side, soldered to the solder pads on the free end of the cantilever.
