A mobile terminal has a controller, a display and an input device connected to the controller, and a digital object browser for browsing among a plurality of available digital objects. A first representation and a second representation of each of the digital objects are presentable on a display screen. The first representations of the digital objects are presented along a predefined path on the display screen, the first representation of a focused one of the digital objects being shown in a focus area on the display screen. For the focused digital object, the second representation thereof is presented in a preview area on the display screen. In response to a user input given on the input device, a desired scrolling operation is performed among the first representations presented, thereby shifting the positions of the first representations on the display screen along the path accordingly, updating the focus area to reflect a change in focus from the focused digital object to another digital object by presenting in the focus area the first representation of the other digital object, as well as updating the preview area correspondingly by presenting therein the second representation of the other digital object.

Mobile communications terminal and method therefore

A telecommunication system comprising a mobile telecommunication network and a mobile communication apparatus arranged to communicate with said mobile telecommunication network is disclosed. The mobile communication apparatus comprises a controller, and is associated with a first and a second display, wherein said controller is arranged to control said first display to view a first set of information and said second display to view a second set of information. A method for providing messages in the telecommunication system is also disclosed. A method and an apparatus for using menu functions of an electronic device are presented. The electronic device provides the menu functions in a menu layer structure that comprises a top menu layer and at least one lower menu layer. One of the lower menu layers is a bottom menu layer. The top menu layer overlaps at least partially the lower menu layers. A user of the electronic device selects a menu layer to be provided as a top menu layer from the lower menu layers by giving a first command and the user selects a function to be performed from the top menu layer by giving a second command.

Method and apparatus for using menu functions of an electronic device

A device and also a system for generating a period-specific calendar view in an electronic device with a display for displaying information and a database for storing calendar data, wherein the method reads calendar data of the period from the database for a calendar view, wherein the period comprises a set of shorter periods which cover the period in a compiled manner, to be displayed in the calendar view, and wherein the calendar data comprise a set of user activities which are allocated to the shorter periods, and the calendar view is displayed on the display of the device by using the calendar data, wherein a quantitative distribution of the activities within the scope of the period is visualized in a three-dimensional bar chart, whose single bar structure illustrates a shorter period of time and its length dimension is dependent on the quantity of activities within the shorter period.
