A flexible impeller pump includes improved flexible impeller geometry, an impeller shaft having protruding portions that produce a stronger and more durable connection between the impeller shaft and the flexible impeller, a smoother housing cam surface, and wear resistant surfaces that are disposed between end faces of the flexible impeller and adjacent housing end walls.

The present invention provides improved retention of O-rings and easier O-ring replacement by using an O-ring retainer in a bar gun. Furthermore, the assembly of the butterfly plates of the bar gun is improved by using molded ball bearing clusters that fit in recesses in the butterfly plates, thus eliminating the welding of the balls to the butterfly plates and the need to purchase such precise and intricately small balls. The O-ring retainer and molded ball bearing cluster are preferably made from bearing quality acetal plastic materials.

An apparatus for dispensing a beverage, for use with pressurized sources of one or more fluids, includes a handle having one or more valve chambers; a fluid valve in each valve chamber; one or more butterfly plates, each configured to bias one or more of the valve stems of the valves towards a valve-open position when the butterfly plate is pressed, thus opening fluidic communication from each of the fluid sources to a corresponding discharge opening; and a ball bearing cluster which provides one or more pivot points for the butterfly plates. The ball bearing cluster includes a retainer and at least one ball-shaped projection projecting from the retainer. The ball-shaped projection remains in a substantially fixed position and orientation with respect to both the retainer and the handle when one or more of the butterfly plates is pressed. The ball bearing cluster and butterfly plate may be molded.

A dispensing apparatus is disclosed. The dispensing apparatus has a product container for holding the fluid; a chamber including a dispensing cylinder having an inlet and an outlet; an inlet check valve disposed at the inlet of the chamber, the inlet check valve being openable to permit flow substantially only in a direction through the inlet check valve into the chamber; an outlet check valve disposed at the outlet of the chamber, the outlet check valve being openable to permit flow substantially only in a direction from the chamber out through the outlet check valve; an outlet spout connected with the outlet of the outlet check valve for receiving the fluid from the outlet check valve; a spring-biased piston configured for sliding movement in the dispensing cylinder, the piston being smaller than the dispensing cylinder thus providing a clearance; and a bypass backflow opening disposed in the dispensing cylinder above the spring-biased piston. The clearance is provided between the piston and the dispenser cylinder wall to allow fluid flow to pass therebetween to a region above the piston when the piston is pushed downward and, subsequently, to allow fluid flow to exit the dispenser chamber from the region above the piston through the bypass back flow opening to the product container.

The embodiments of the present invention are directed to a dispensing apparatus for dispensing a flowable product at or above a preset elevated temperature through a dispensing outlet. Such an apparatus includes a pot in which to house the product. The dispensing apparatus also includes a pump coupled between the pot and the dispensing outlet to pump the flowable product from the pot to the dispensing outlet. A rope heater configured to heat the pot may also be included in the dispensing apparatus. The pot may have a movable lid, which may vacuum seal the product against the exterior environment. The lid is designed to scrape any food product residue off the vertical walls of the pot, while also maintaining the vacuum as it moves into the pot. The pot may have a check valve to prevent product spilling when the pot is lifted out of the housing.

An apparatus for dispensing a flowable product from a product package through a dispensing outlet at or above a preset elevated temperature is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a container slide structure coupled with a first side of the container and having: a first slide member coupled with a first side of the container; a second slide member extendably coupled with the first slide member; a slide mounting bracket for connecting with a fixed surface coupled to the first slide member; a container tilt structure coupled with a first side of the container and having a: tilt member coupled with the first side of the container and the slide mounting bracket; a slot member having a slot coupled with the first side of said container; a slot engagement member slidably movable in the slot of the slot member coupled with the first side the container and the tilt member; and a pivot member coupled with the first side of the container at a lower back position of the container, enabling the tilting of the container about the pivot member from a horizontal position to a titled position, the titling being constrained by the movement of the slot engagement member in the slot of the slot member. Other embodiments disclose a roller and roller retainer mechanism; and a product package holder.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a nonremovable tube fitting or member for insertion into a container to access the interior of the container. In one embodiment, the fitting includes a hollow body having a proximal end and a distal end. The hollow body is partially insertable from the distal end through the opening of the container. The hollow body includes a proximal cap near the proximal end. The proximal cap is larger in size than the opening of the container. The hollow body includes a hole extending from the proximal end in a direction toward the distal end for receiving the tube through the hole. A capture member is coupled with the hollow body. The capture member is movable between an expanded position and a contracted position. The capture member in the contracted position has a lateral dimension sufficiently small to be inserted through the opening of the container. The capture member moves to the expanded position upon insertion into the container. The capture member in the expanded position protrudes outwardly from a region near the distal end of the hollow body to prevent the hollow body from being pulled out through the opening and separated from the container.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a pierce fitting or member for penetrating a container to access the interior of the container. The pierce fitting is configured to cut a flap through the surface of the container. In one embodiment, a device for penetrating a container to access an interior of the container comprises a pierce member including an external surface and an internal surface forming a hollow interior extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end has a slanted surface with a pierce leading edge on a first side between the external surface and the internal surface. The external surface expands outwardly in a region proximal of the distal end in a direction toward the proximal end except on a second side opposite from the first side.

In one embodiment, a mixing apparatus for mixing a flowable material comprises a first body having a first mating surface and a plurality of first cavities formed on the first mating surface. The plurality of first cavities are arranged along a first path to provide a variation in depth measured from the first mating surface. A second body has a second mating surface configured to mate with the first mating surface of the first body. The second body includes a plurality of second cavities formed on the second mating surface. The plurality of second cavities are arranged along a second path to provide a variation in depth measured from the second mating surface. The first mating surface of the first body is mated with the second mating surface of the second body to align the first path with the second path. The first cavities fluidicly communicates with the second cavities to form an internal flow path from an inlet through the first cavities and second cavities to an outlet. The internal flow path has multiple depth turns to direct flow between the first body and the second body formed by the depth variations in the first cavities of the first body and the second cavities in the second body.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a rotary sauce dispensing apparatus for applying a sauce on a receiving surface such as a pizza dough. In one embodiment, an apparatus for dispensing a sauce on a receiving surface comprises a rotating table configured to support and rotate the receiving surface thereon around an axis generally perpendicular to the receiving surface for receiving the sauce. A sauce dispensing member has a dispensing outlet disposed above the rotating table to dispense the sauce on the receiving surface disposed on the rotating table. The sauce dispensing member is movable between an edge position above an outer edge of the receiving surface and a center position above a center of the receiving surface. A controller is coupled with the sauce dispensing member and configured to control a speed of movement of the sauce dispensing member between the edge position and the center position to form a layer of sauce on the receiving surface.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a dispensing apparatus for dispensing a flowable product. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a dispenser housing having a product outlet extending from the dispenser housing to dispense the flowable product from the product package; and a bellows pump having a pump inlet, a pump outlet, and bellows disposed between the pump inlet and the pump outlet. The pump outlet is coupled to the product outlet of the dispenser housing. The pump inlet is configured to be coupled to the product package outlet of the product package. An actuation lever is coupled with the bellows pump. The actuation lever protrudes to an exterior of the dispensing housing and being movable to compress the bellows of the bellows pump in a compressed position and expand the bellows of the bellows pump in an extended position to pump the product from the product package to the product outlet. A resilient member is connected with the actuation lever to bias the actuation lever to one of the compressed position and the extended position.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a dispensing apparatus for dispensing a heated fluid or flowable food product from a package while maintaining the product at or above a preset elevated temperature. In one embodiment, an apparatus for dispensing a flowable product from a product package through a dispensing outlet at or above a preset elevated temperature comprises a container in which to dispose the product package. The container includes a gas inlet and a gas outlet. A dispensing outlet is provided to dispense the flowable product from the product package, and is disposed adjacent the gas outlet. A pump is coupled between the product package and the dispensing outlet to pump the flowable product from the product package to the dispensing outlet. A heated gas flow controller is configured to direct a heated gas flow in the container to heat the product package, the pump, and the dispensing outlet. The heated gas flow includes gas flowing into the container via the gas inlet and gas flowing out of the chamber via the gas outlet adjacent the dispensing outlet.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a dispensing nozzle for dispensing a sauce containing particulates which is configured to reduce clogging of the nozzle by the particulates. In one embodiment, a dispensing nozzle comprises a nozzle body having a nozzle cavity with a nozzle inlet and a nozzle outlet. The nozzle inlet has a bore-shape cross section. The nozzle outlet is longitudinal in shape with a length substantially larger than a width. The nozzle cavity extends from the nozzle inlet to the nozzle outlet in a flow direction and has a cross-sectional area which is substantially constant extending from the nozzle inlet along the flow direction to the nozzle outlet.
