Methods and systems are provided for automatic noise control. Automatic noise control includes controlling a shadow noise control transfer function based on a shadow error signal and a filtered or unfiltered reference signal, generating the shadow error signal based on a filtered or unfiltered shadow anti-noise signal and an error signal, and substituting the noise control transfer function by the shadow noise control transfer function if the shadow error signal is smaller than the error signal.

Automatic noise control

A system and method for multi-rate synchronization of a digital sensor that provides a digital sensor output signal and a processor arrangement that processes the digital sensor output signal according to a processing algorithm and that provides a processor output signal, including operating the digital sensor to provide the digital sensor output signal with a first sample rate, and operating the processor arrangement to provide a processor output signal with a second sample rate. The second sample rate is an integer multiple of the first sample rate.

Multi-rate digital sensor synchronization

Sound reduction includes producing an error signal representative of sound present in a target space, producing a reference signal corresponding to undesired sound present in the target space, and producing, based on the reference signal and the error signal a cancelling output signal representative of the undesired sound present in the target space. The method further includes producing, based on the cancelling output signal, sound to destructively interfere with the undesired sound present in the target space, and limiting the amplitude or power of at least one of the reference signal, the error signal and the cancelling output signal if a first condition is met, the at least one signal under examination is at least one of the reference signal, the error signal and the cancelling output signal, and fully or partially suspending the active noise controller update mechanism if a second condition is met.

Feedforward active noise control

In at least one embodiment, an embedded Linux system is provided. The Linux system includes a memory, a system on a chip (SoC) device, and a first circuit. The SoC device includes the memory and is programmed to process at least a reference signal indicative of undesired audio content and a measured signal indicative of measured audio data in a listening environment. The first circuit is programmed to receive the reference signal and the measured signal. The first circuit is further programmed to merge the reference signal with the measured signal to provide a combined system input to the SoC device to prevent temporal misalignment between the reference signal and the measured signal caused by one or more software layers of the Linux system.

Synchronized multichannel loopback within embedded architectures

Sound reduction includes receiving a reference signal corresponding to undesired sound present in the target space, and producing, based on the reference signal, a cancelling signal representative of the undesired sound present in the target space. Sound reduction further includes producing, based on the cancelling signal, sound to destructively interfere with the undesired sound present in the target space, and delaying at least one of the reference signal and the cancelling signal to reduce or compensate for runtime differences between signal paths that transfer the reference signal to the target space.

Systems and methods for noise reduction are provided including operations for noisy speech signals, such as speech signals that are subject to speech processing, speech recognition and speech transmission for voice communication purposes. In one embodiment, a system for noise suppression includes an input smoothing filter to smooth magnitudes of the input spectrum, a desired noise shape determination block configured to determine a desired noise shape of the noise spectrum dependent on the smoothed-magnitude input spectrum, and a suppression factors determination block configured to determine a set of suppression factors based on the desired noise shape and the smoothed-magnitude input spectrum. In one embodiment, a filter coefficient determination block is configured to determine noise suppression filter coefficients from the desired noise shape of the noise spectrum. Embodiments are also directed to systems and methods for noise reduction. System configurations and processes are provided for formant detection.

Dynamic noise suppression and operations for noisy speech signals

An example active noise control filtering with an adaptive filter structure includes a controllable filter matrix with reference and error input signals, and updating the filter coefficients dependent on an optional filtered reference signal and an error signal, the error signal being representative of a performance criterion of the filter module. Further, a leakage functionality and a convergence functionality is applied to the updated filter coefficients. The leakage functionality is controlled by at least one of a flush functionality, freeze functionality, spatial freeze functionality and leakage threshold, and the convergence functionality is controlled by the freeze functionality and spatial freeze functionality.

Noise control

The present invention relates to a method of noise reduction including the steps of filtering reference signals and representing noise by an adaptive filter comprising adaptive filter coefficients to obtain actuator driving signals, outputting the actuator driving signals by loudspeakers to obtain loudspeaker signals. The method further includes detecting the loudspeaker signals by microphones and filtering the reference signals by estimated transfer functions representing the transfer of the loudspeaker signals output by the loudspeakers to the microphones to obtain filtered reference signals. The method further includes updating the filter coefficients of the adaptive filter based on the filtered reference signals and based on the previously updated filter coefficients of the adaptive filter multiplied by leakage factors.

Active noise control by adaptive noise filtering

The sound reproduction includes generating from a customized audio signal an acoustically isolated sound field at a position dependent on a sound field position control signal; providing a listening position signal representing a position of a listener and a listener identification signal representing the identity of the listener; and processing the listening position signal, the listener identification signal, and an audio signal. The sound reproduction further includes controlling, via the sound field position control signal, the position of the sound field dependent on the listening position signal so that the position of the sound field is at the position of the listener; and processing the audio signal according to an audio setting dependent on the identity of the listener to provide the customized audio signal.

Sound reproduction for a multiplicity of listeners

The present disclosure provides a system for the synthesis of external sound of a vehicle, the system comprising a hazard analysis unit configured to detect a collision hazard between the vehicle and at least one further road user, in particular an outside traffic participant; at least one electroacoustic transducer; and a sound processing unit configured to generate an audio signal representing an, in particular vehicle dependent, synthetic noise signal and to control the at least one electroacoustic transducer to output a synthetic external sound based on the audio signal, wherein the sound processing unit is configured to modify the audio signal to enhance the perceptibility of the synthetic external sound by the further road user upon detection of the collision hazard.
