A safety braking device for a machine tool for braking a processing tool driven by an electric motor via an output unit, more particularly an output shaft, includes at least one braking device which is provided to halt rotation of the output unit in a braking process. The braking device has at least a first braking stage and a second braking stage. The disclosure further relates to a machine tool having the safety braking device and to a method for operating a safety braking device.

A safety brake device for braking a machining tool includes at least one brake device configured as an at least two-part claw clutch. The claw clutch includes a first claw-clutch part, and a second claw-clutch part. The first claw-clutch part is arranged on the output shaft so as to allow no relative rotation, the second claw-clutch part is configured to allow no relative rotation with respect to the power tool, each claw-clutch part has a respective plurality of toothing elements, the respective plurality of toothing elements are configured to engage with one another during a braking operation to stop rotation of the output shaft, and a maximum angular spacing Δmax of mutually adjacent toothing elements of at least one of the first plurality of toothing elements an the second plurality of toothing elements is determined depending on a maximum rotational speed of the output shaft.

Safety brake device

A machine tool, in particular a hand-held machine tool, is disclosed. The machine tool includes at least one housing unit and at least one drive unit arranged within the housing unit. The machine tool further includes at least one separator unit which is provided to divide at least one fluid flow directed through the housing unit into at least two sub-flows, in particular according to a density of foreign bodies. One sub-flow of the sub-flows has a higher density of foreign bodies in comparison to another sub-flow of the sub-flows. The machine tool also includes at least one fluid cooling unit which is provided for cooling the drive unit by way of the at least two sub-flows.

A machine tool device in one embodiment is configured to provide open-loop and/or closed-loop control of at least one machine tool function of a portable machine tool. The machine tool device includes at least one detection unit configured to detect at least one characteristic variable of the machine tool and/or of a processing tool arranged on the machine tool. A machine tool device for a portable machine tool in one embodiments includes at least one coupling unit which couples a machining tool and at least one drive unit configured to drive the coupling unit. The machine tool device includes a recuperation unit which provides, in at least one deactivated state of the drive unit, electrical energy which supplies at least one functional unit from a kinetic energy of at least the coupling unit.

Machine tool device

The disclosure relates to a brake device for an electric motor, which has at least one armature winding and at least one field winding, comprising at least one open-loop and/or closed-loop control unit at least for open-loop control and/or closed-loop control of at least one electric current through the armature winding and/or through the field winding. According to the disclosure, in the event of short-circuit braking of the electric motor, the open-loop and/or control-loop unit is intended to reduce, at least temporarily, an electric armature current flowing through the armature winding.

Brake device

The disclosure relates to a circular saw, in particular a hand-held circular saw, having a housing and a drive unit, at least some sections of which are arranged in the housing and with which a tool holder for an exchangeable saw blade is associated. The drive unit is designed to rotationally drive the exchangeable saw blade about an associated axis of rotation. In the circular saw, a blade guard is associated with the exchangeable saw blade. The blade guard is mounted in the housing for rotation about the associated axis of rotation and extends around a cutting point of the exchangeable saw blade at least during a sawing operation in such a way that contact with the cutting point can be at least substantially prevented.

A miter saw includes a base, a turntable rotatable in relation to the base and including a work piece support surface, a support assembly attached to the turntable, and a saw assembly attached to the support assembly and configured to cut a work piece supported on the turntable. A fence assembly includes an elongate fence body that extends along a first axis. The elongate fence body is supported by the base and positioned over the turntable. The fence body has a first connecting structure, and a fence insert defining an elongate work piece abutment surface and having a second connecting structure. The fence assembly is positionable in a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the second connecting structure cooperates with the first connecting structure to secure the fence insert at a first position in relation to the fence body. When the fence assembly is positioned in the second configuration, the second connecting structure cooperates with the first connecting structure to secure the fence insert at a second position in relation to the fence body. A second axis intersects the first axis in a perpendicular manner. When the fence insert is secured at the first position, the elongate work piece abutment surface is positioned to intersect the second axis at a first point. When the fence insert is secured at the second position, the elongate work piece abutment surface is positioned to intersect the second axis at a second point, and the first point is offset from the second point along said second axis.

A mobile function device, in particular a mobile tool-system function device configured to be disposed on an extremity of an operator, includes at least one sensor unit configured to sense at least one emission characteristic quantity and/or at least one position-specific characteristic quantity, and at least one communication unit configured to transmit electronic data to at least one external unit, in particular to a portable power tool and/or to an item of safety clothing. Mobile function device

A mobile functional apparatus is arrangeable on a body part of a user and includes at least one communication unit configured to communicate with at least one external unit and/or at least one sensor unit configured to capture at least one user and/or environment parameter. The mobile functional apparatus further includes at least one energy harvesting unit configured to convert at least one form of energy into electric power for supplying electric power at least to the at least one communication unit and/or to the at least one sensor unit.

A table saw assembly in one embodiment includes a base portion, a saw blade opening, a saw assembly and a first extension. The base portion includes a base work piece support surface which defines a support plane. The saw blade opening is defined in the base work piece support surface. The saw assembly includes a saw blade which is positionable to extend upwardly through the saw blade opening. The first extension includes a first extension work piece support surface which is pivotable with respect to the base portion between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the first extension work piece support surface is coplanar with the base work piece support surface. In the second position, the first extension work piece support surface is located above the support plane.

A table saw assembly includes a base portion with a base work piece support surface which defines a support plane and a saw blade opening. A saw blade is positionable to extend upwardly through the saw blade opening. A first extension includes a first extension work piece support surface which is pivotable with respect to the base portion between a first position coplanar with the base work piece support surface and a second position above the support plane. A second extension includes a second extension work piece support surface which is pivotable between a third position coplanar with the base work piece support surface and a fourth position above the support plane. A guard device for a saw system in which the table saw is not operated without a saw blade guard, unless a user intends to make a non-through cut in a workpiece. The guard device, in one embodiment, determines whether an adjusted saw blade height corresponds to a thickness of the work piece to be cut and prevents the tool or motor driving the saw blade from operating if the saw blade is adjusted too high, in order to improve work conditions.

Guard device for a table saw

A method of detecting a kickback event for a table saw includes operatively connecting a stress sensor to the table saw that is configured to detect a characteristic of a work component of the table saw, the work component being coupled to a workpiece being cut by the table saw during a cutting operation. The stress sensor outputs stress signals indicative of the characteristic of the work component. A speed of the saw blade is then controlled based on the stress signals.
