The present invention relates to an aqueous dispersion, comprising or consisting of A) at least one cyclic olefin copolymer, B) at least one surfactant; optionally C) at least one adhesion promoter; optionally D) at least one film-forming resin; optionally E) at least one additive; and F) water. Additionally, the invention relates to methods of manufacturing the aqueous dispersion, to an article, which comprises at least one substrate and at least one coating layer obtained from the aqueous dispersion and applied onto the substrate; and to methods of improving MVTR of a substrate.

The invention relates to use of an adhesion promoting organic compound comprising at least one tertiary amine group, bonded via a bridge-constituting divalent radical, with the carbonyl carbon atom of an amide group, wherein the bridge-constituting divalent radical comprises two carbon atoms as bridge atoms, for anticorrosion pretreatment of metallic materials before painting and to aqueous compositions containing the adhesion promoting organic compound which generate conversion layers based on the elements Zr, Ti and/or Si. Use of an adhesion promoter obtainable as a reaction product of a di- or poly amine with &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives for metal surface treatment

The object of the underlying invention consists of an acidic aqueous metal pretreatment solution that comprises amino-functional organosilanes and organophosphorus acids. These types of metal pretreatment solutions effectively reduce temporary corrosion when applied to metal surfaces and in addition confer good adhesion properties for subsequently coated organic lacquers. The invention consequently also encompasses a process for the treatment of metal substrates, especially selected from zinc and zinc-coated steel substrates, wherein metal pretreatment solutions of this invention are applied.

Metal pretreatment compositions comprising silanes and organophosporus acids

The present invention relates to an alkaline aqueous composition on the basis of water glass and organosilanes with non-hydrolysable substituents which have a primary amino group in the substituents, for providing corrosion-protected coatings on metal surfaces which convey good reshaping properties in metal processing. For the desired functionality, the compositions according to the invention contain the organosilane and the water glass in a predetermined ration. The invention further relates to a method for pre-treating metal surfaces using the alkaline aqueous compositions, which method provides excellent results with regard to corrosion protection, varnish adhesion and reshapability, particularly on aluminum and on steel strips provided with aluminum alloy metal coatings.

Passivating alkaline composition on the basis of water glass

The present invention relates to a method for the bonded adhesion, or connection, of a plurality of wire-shaped individual elements into an arrangement, particularly into a wire band, wherein the adjacent individual elements have predetermined breaking points allowing for the mechanical removal of the individual elements. The bonded adhesion is brought about according to the invention utilizing a two-layer system on the basis of acrylate resins consisting of an inner coating (A) and of an outer coating (B), wherein the inner coating (A) has a lower hardness, than the outer coating. In a further aspect the invention also comprises arranging a plurality of wire-shaped individual elements through such a bonded connection, particularly a wire band.
