The present invention provides for a system that makes use of a system power supply enable switch controlled by a near field communications (NFC) frontend with energy harvesting. In one embodiment, RF power in the 13.56 MHz band generated by a NFC counterpart (such as a mobile phone) is detected by the energy harvesting unit being part of the battery-unpowered NFC communication device. After activation, the system can perform actions required to communicate to the presented device (i.e., the NFC counterpart). Later, the system can switch itself into the unpowered state again. In another embodiment, this feature can also be used to control an NFC protection circuitry very quickly after the NFC device is exposed to an external HF (high frequency) field.

NFC system wakeup with energy harvesting

It is described a method for a wireless Near Field Communication (NFC) between a NFC enabled device () and a NFC capable mobile telecommunication end device (). The provided method comprises transferring data from the NFC enabled device () to the NFC capable mobile telecommunication end device (). Thereby, at least some of the transferred data represent a code in a descriptive web interface language. Further, a NFC capable mobile telecommunication end device () and a NFC enabled device () are described for participating in such a NFC method. Furthermore, a system () comprising such a NFC enabled device () and such a NFC capable mobile telecommunication end device () and a computer program for enabling such a NFC method are described.

Transferring a descriptive web interface language code between two nearfield communication devices

A contactless transponder device is provided with multiple ICs. A first IC includes a first contactless transponder interface circuit configured and arranged to respond to a contactless field by providing a first identifier of the first IC. A second IC includes a second contactless transponder interface circuit configured and arranged to respond to the contactless field by providing a second identifier of the second IC. A controller is configured and arranged to inhibit the first IC from responding to the contactless field.
