The present invention relates to a method of producing fatty acid alkyl ester from an organic oil source containing at least one free fatty acid, wherein the oil source has an acid number of at least 30 mg KOH/g oil source and wherein the method comprises the steps of a) reacting the oil source with glycerol at a temperature, which does not exceed 180&#xb0; C. during the reaction, in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one alkyl or aryl sulfonic acid or an homoanhydride thereof; and b) transesterification of the reaction product from step a) with an alkanol; and c) isolating the fatty acid alkyl ester from the reaction product of step b).

A node may contain a secure store agent. A process executing on the node may request connection information from the secure store agent. An encryption key phrase may be accessed, responsive to the request for connection information, to decrypt the requested connection information. The requested connection information may be obtained from a secure storage file in a file system.

A process and system for generating a pseudo-random number is presented. Input data having entropy is gathered in an Entropy Pool and transformed once by a cryptographic hash function. The transformed data forms the internal state of the pseudo-random number generator. The generator forms the output by applying a second cryptographic hash function to this internal state. Finally, the generator updates the internal state by inputting the current internal state and data from the Entropy Pool into a third cryptographic hash function. The output of the third hash function forms the new internal state of the pseudo-random number generator.

According to one aspect of the invention, a hierarchy of security domains and a method for granting a user access to the security domains are provided. The hierarchy of security domains includes multiple security levels and relationships between particular security domains.
