The invention relates to a camshaft, especially for motor vehicle engines, comprising a hollow outer shaft () and an inner shaft () arranged coaxially in the outer shaft () and mounted in such a way that it can rotate in relation to the outer shaft (). Said camshaft also comprises first cams () arranged on the outer shaft () in a rotationally fixed manner, and second cams () that are arranged on the outer shaft () and fixed to the inner shaft (). According to the invention, a supporting element () is provided on at least one of the end regions of the inner shaft (), said supporting element projecting past the outer shaft () in the radial direction. An outer peripheral surface () of the outer shaft () and an associated inwardly facing surface () of the supporting element () form a radial bearing.

Camshaft, especially for motor vehicle engines

A method for mounting laminated sheets onto a shaft of a rotor provided for an electrical machine may involve sliding the laminated sheets onto the shaft and bracing the laminated sheets between two rotation-resistant thrust washers connected with the shaft. The laminated sheets may be slid onto the shaft to lie against a stop in the form of a first thrust washer arranged upon a first subsection of the shaft. A second thrust washer may be pressed in by axially bracing the laminated sheets onto a second axial subsection of the shaft in a frictional interlocking manner. The second thrust washer may be positioned after a surface of the second subsection has been enlarged by the introduction of an exterior surface profile.

An adjustable camshaft may include an outer shaft that is hollow and an inner shaft received in the outer shaft and rotatable in the outer shaft. The inner shaft may include a cavity into which oil can be applied. At least a first radial opening may be configured in the outer shaft and at least a second radial opening may be configured in the inner shaft. Thus oil can flow between the cavity and an outside of the outer shaft during overlap of the first radial opening and the second radial opening. The first radial opening on an inside of the outer shaft may have a greater cross-section than on the outside of the outer shaft.

A bearing apparatus for mounting a camshaft in a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine may include a bearing element that surrounds a bearing ring in which the camshaft is rotatably mounted or mountable. The bearing element may be made of a first material whose expansion coefficient is greater than an expansion coefficient of a second material of which the bearing ring is made. An outer surface of the bearing ring may include a contour that engages in a form-fitting manner with a mating contour formed on an inner surface of the bearing element that surrounds the bearing ring. The contouring formed by the contour and the mating contour may form retaining structures that brace against one another in instances of thermal expansion.

A valve control system may include an adjustable camshaft that includes an outer shaft and an inner shaft that extends through the outer shaft. The valve control system may further include a phase shifter that comprises a first control element and a second control element that can be rotated relative to the first control element. The outer shaft and the inner shaft may each be connected with a control element. The valve control system may also include a stop coupled with the outer shaft in a torque-proof manner, as well as a counter-stop coupled with the inner shaft in a torque-proof manner. A maximal angle of rotation of the inner shaft in the outer shaft may be determined by the stop bordering on the counter-stop.

The invention relates to a method for producing a tubular structural part by means of hydroforming. An assigned end of a supporting tube () is inserted into an opening in an end piece () and then widened by a pressurized fluid being applied to it and is connected to the end piece () with a press fit. The opening () has a first portion () with a first inner cross section, which is greater than the outer cross section of the assigned end of the supporting tube (). According to the invention, the first portion () is adjoined by a second portion (), in a step-shaped manner so as to form an edge (). The inner cross section of the second portion () is smaller than the outer cross section of the assigned end of the supporting tube (). In the method according to the invention, the supporting tube () is first inserted with its corresponding end into the first portion (), before the edge () cuts into the material of the supporting tube () in a further pushing-in movement.

Method and parts for making a tubular workpiece, in particular a built-up camshaft

The invention relates to a camshaft, in particular for motor vehicle engines, comprising an outer shaft (), an inner shaft () arranged coaxially in the outer shaft (), first functional elements () rigidly arranged on the outer shaft (), second functional elements (), which are rotatably arranged on the outer shaft () and fastened to the inner shaft () in a rotationally fixed manner, and a phase adjuster () connected to the outer shaft () and the inner shaft () for rotating the inner shaft () relative to the outer shaft (), wherein the phase adjuster () is fastened to the inner shaft () and thereby a torque is applied. According to the invention, one of the functional elements () connected to the inner shaft () in a rotationally fixed manner has tool accommodation surfaces () on the cylindrical surface side outside of a functional surface (). The invention further relates to such a functional element.

Camshaft and functional elements for a camshaft

A cam shaft has a tubular part extending longitudinally along an axis and a helical body fixed in the tubular part and having a first helical passage extending between an inlet end where a first pressure is present and an outlet end where a second pressure is present. This helical body forms an oil separator between the inlet and outlet ends. A flow-blocking element at the inlet end moves as a function of a pressure differential between the first and second pressures to open and close the first helical passage.

A camshaft arrangement for a motor vehicle engine has a hollow outer shaft and an inner shaft supporting inner shaft cams. The inner shaft cams are non-rotatably attached to the inner shaft by at least one connection element that protrudes with clearance through an aperture in the outer shaft and is attached to the respective inner shaft cam which is rotatably mounted on the outer shaft. When inserted into a receiver in the inner shaft, a portion of the connection element protrudes out of the receiver, and the protruding portion is at least partially inserted into an aperture located at the joint diameter of the inner shaft cam. This aperture is open at least towards an end face of the inner shaft cam. The protruding portion has at least two opposite-lying side surfaces lying with an interference fit against corresponding inner surfaces of the aperture of the inner shaft cam.

Adjustable camshaft arrangement

A hollow body includes an integrated oil separator unit, a swirl generator located in a cavity of the hollow body, at least one first supply opening in the camshaft case for introducing gas that is charged with oil into the cavity, and at least one discharge opening for carrying away separated oil and for carrying away gas that has been cleaned of oil. The swirl generator also has elements that are used to variably influence the pressure prevailing at a predetermined point in the cavity.

A hollow body, in particular a camshaft, is provided. The hollow body includes an integrated oil separator unit, a swirl generator being located in a cavity of the hollow body and the hollow body having at least one supply opening in the camshaft case for introducing gas that is charged with oil into the cavity and at least one discharge opening for carrying away separated oil and gas that has been cleaned of oil. The hollow body has an oil separator ring inside the cavity, downstream of the swirl generator when viewed in the flow direction.
