A toothing, in particular of a drive spindle for driving a roll in rolling mills or continuous casting plants, which has several teeth and meshes with a second toothing in the manner of a spline, wherein a flank line of the teeth has a curvature, and a deflection angle is formed between the rotational axis of the second toothing and the rotational axis of the drive spindle toothing, and wherein the teeth of drive spindle toothing have a twist in form of profile angle deviation over the tooth width in the flank direction.

Toothing for operation at a deflection angle and production method

The invention relates to a method for producing a metal strip () in a continuous casting and rolling process, in which a slab is first cast in a casting machine and is then fed to a finishing rolling mill situated downstream in the direction of feed (F) of the strip (), where it is rolled. According to the invention, in order to enable the recycling of scrap while achieving a compact design, the following steps are performed in the event of a planned or unplanned production interruption in the finishing rolling mill: a) cutting through the strip () at a point () between the casting machine () and the finishing rolling mill by means of a cutting device (); b) feeding the part of the strip () that follows the cut into a strip store () by means of a driver (), the driver () being situated downstream of the cutting device () in the direction of feed (F); c) cutting through the strip () a second time by means of the cutting device () and cutting the following part of the strip () into pieces by means of the cutting device (); d) cutting the stored strip section into pieces, preferably of a defined length. The invention further relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method.

A device for clamping a blade of shears for traverse cutting of strips includes a clamping bar for the clamping the blade, and a device for displacing the clamping bar in its release position, with the device having a first piston having a piston rod connected at its end remote from the piston with the clamping bar, and a second piston spaced from the first piston and having a piston rod section acting on the first piston, a first connection-bore connects the space in the front of the first piston with the space in the front of the second piston, and a second connection bores connects the space behind the second piston with the space behind the first piston, wherein the first and second connection bores are formed in the rod section of the second piston.

A mandrel for winding sheet metal has a generally tubular mandrel body extending along and centered on an axis and formed at one end with a plurality of radially throughgoing and angularly spaced apertures each having a pair of closed and axially confronting end faces, a spreading bar extending axially inside the body and having a respective pivot adjacent each of the apertures, respective rigid links extending through the apertures and having inner ends carried on the respective pivots and outer ends projecting outside the body, and respective segments outside the body and each pivoted on the outer end of a respective one of the links. Respective pressure plates are operatively connected at the one end between the segments and the mandrel body.
