Lighting devices and methods of manufacturing lighting devices are described. A lighting devices includes at least one thermally conductive element, at least one lighting module thermally coupled to the at least one thermally conductive element, and an overmould at least partially encasing the at least one thermally conductive element, the overmould comprising at least one receiving portion. The at least one circuit board is mounted in the at least one receiving portion and is at least partially exposed from the overmould. The at least one circuit board includes at least one connector and at least two bond pads. The at least one connector includes surface accessible conduction lines.

Lighting device comprising circuit board

A lighting arrangement includes a plurality of light sources in spaced arrangement. Collimator elements are arranged in front of the light sources. A holder with a plurality of spaced openings is provided to hold the collimator elements within the openings in such a way that the openings are arranged to contact the collimator elements from at least two opposed sides, In order to allow exact positioning and easy manufacturing, the holder comprises at least a first portion and a second portion such that at least some of the openings are formed between the first and the second portions.

Holding collimator elements in a lighting arrangement

The invention relates to an optical device and to a headlighting assembly including an optical device. An optical device includes a body of a transparent material arranged to receive light at at least one light input portion. At least a portion of the light is reflected at an outer surface of the body due to total internal reflection. A non-transparent housing is provided to at least partially cover the body. The body is held within the housing by protrusions arranged to abut against the outer surface.

The invention relates to a lighting arrangement with at least one LED lighting element () arranged on a support member (). An optical element () is arranged spaced from the LED lighting element () in a first direction O. A holder () is provided to hold the optical element () in a position relative to the LED lighting element (). The holder () comprises at least a first holding portion () extending from the support member () into the first direction O and a second holding portion () connected to the optical element (). The second holding portion () is arranged such that at least a part extends into the first direction O. The second holding portion () is spaced from the first holding portion () in a direction traverse to the first direction O. In the case of distortions due to temperature changes and a mismatch of the coefficient of thermal expansion, the lighting arrangement minimizes variations in the displacement of the optical element () relative to the LED lighting element ().

Reducing thermal sensitivity of a lighting arrangement

The operating circuitis electrically connected to at least one elongate contact path elementextending within the base. The contact path elementis supported within the baseand comprises a first portionfixed within the base and a second portionslidably received within the base. The contact path elementis fixed to the operating circuitat a position arranged in longitudinal direction from the second portion. This allows a manufacturing method, where the contact path element is fixed to the operating circuitat a position arranged in longitudinal direction from the second portion, so that a longitudinal movement of the second portion is possible to compensate for manufacturing tolerances.

A lamp () is described comprising a burner () fixed to a lamp base (). The lamp base () comprises a metal housing part (). The metal housing part () comprises a contact sheet element () made out of a different metal material. Electrical contacts are provided within the base (), including an electrical ground contact (). A contact spring () is provided for contacting the electrical ground contact () to the metal housing part (). The contact spring () is arranged to press against the contact sheet element () to provide electrical ground connection to the metal housing part ().

An apparatus for fastening a burner of a discharge lamp to a housing or plug portion including a sleeve clamped around an outer bulb of the burner, an annular base fastened to the housing or plug portion of the electronic ballast unit having tabs that are orientated in the direction of the center point of the annular base and are biased against the sleeve. The tabs are inclined at an angle through an opening of the base, so that in the mounted condition of the burner, they rest against the sleeve below a surface of the annular base.
