An apparatus includes a control unit. The control unit is configured to control an automatic flap and/or door. The flap and/or door is automatically transferrable from an open position into a closed position by at least one actuator. The flap and/or door is configured to press against a seal when in the closed position. In relation to a closing operation of the flap and/or door, the control unit is configured to determine time information in relation to an open state time duration during which the flap and/or door was in the open position before the closing operation. In relation to a closing operation of the flap and/or door, the control unit is also configured to operate the at least one actuator configured for the closing operation as a function of the time information.

Control unit and method for operating an automatic flap and/or door

A control device and method for a vehicle having an automatically opening and/or automatically closing flap includes an operating switch which can be operated contactlessly in the form of a proximity sensor and a programmable functional module. The method includes the following steps: firstly, an operating requirement signal is generated upon recognition of a predetermined proximity pattern consisting of the raw sensor signal of the proximity sensor for output of a resulting control signal to an unlocking and locking mechanism for the actual automatic opening or closing the valve, secondly, it is determined whether a predetermined absolute limit value of the raw sensor signal is exceeded, and thirdly, when the predetermined limiting value is exceeded, the output of the control signal is also suppressed when the operating requirement signal is generated, wherein this provision is also designated in short below as 'suppression mode'.

Control device and control method for a vehicle having an automatically opening and/or automatically closing hatch

The control device relates to a vehicle having an automatically closing hatch, including at least one operating switch for outputting a closing command to automatically close the hatch by way of at least one actuator, a monitoring device for recognizing a blocking or jamming event during the closing procedure and a programmable electronic control unit which is connected with both the operating switch and the monitoring device, and which detects the vehicle speed as an input signal. The monitoring device is designed such that a risk of jamming can be recognized by monitoring the current curve and/or the rotational speed curve of the actuator. The control unit is programmed so as to only stop the closing procedure on recognition of a risk of jamming if the vehicle speed is less than a specified threshold value. Additionally or alternatively, the control unit is programmed so as to initially only react to the occurrence of comparatively large speed or current fluctuations by terminating the automatic closing procedure, for a certain time window and/or for a given distance covered by the tailgate, if the vehicle speed is above a specified threshold.

Control device for a vehicle having an automatically closing hatch

A motor vehicle has an automatically controllable rear-tailgate arrangement, which either is comprised of a single pivotable tailgate or a pivotable lower tailgate and a pivotable upper tailgate. An electronic control unit for the motorized control of the pivotable tailgates is associated with the rear-tailgate arrangement assembly. In particular, the control unit is designed to perform the following functionality by an appropriately programmed function module: the control unit evaluates information of a sensor unit for sensing the longitudinal tilt of the motor vehicle; after an opening command by an operating person, the control unit prevents complete opening either of the single rear tailgate or at least of the lower rear tailgate at least in the case of a rearward longitudinal tilt exceeding a defined threshold.

Motor vehicle having an automatically controllable rear-flap assembly

A system and method are provided for detecting blockages during an automatic adjustment of a movable vehicle part in a motor vehicle equipped with an electric motor drive and an electronic control unit. The drive current as well as the movement speed of the drive are detected by the electronic control unit. When the movement speed increases above the normal level, the control unit suppresses the detection of a blockage event if a drive current increase required for the movement speed increase cannot be ascertained.

System and method of blockage detection during an automatic adjustment of a movable vehicle part in a motor vehicle

A motor vehicle has a tailgate arrangement consisting of a pivotable lower tailgate and a pivotable upper tailgate, the upper tailgate reaching partially over the lower tailgate in an overlapping region. A sensor system detects the respectively current position of both tailgates in the tailgate arrangement. The sensor system is connected to an electronic control unit for motorized actuation of both tailgates. The control unit has a functional module and in the process prevents a collision of the two tailgates in the overlapping region with consideration of their respectively current positions. The functional module is programmed such that, during closing of both tailgates starting from their respective start positions, their respective moving speed and/or their respective moving start are controlled in such a way that the upper tailgate passes a defined anti-collision position in the closing direction only when the lower tailgate is completely closed. The functional module may be programmed such that, during opening of both tailgates, the lower tailgate is not moved in the opening direction until the upper tailgate has passed the defined anti-collision position in the opening direction. The anti-collision position is a defined point, from which the possibility of geometric superimposition of the pivoting regions just cannot yet exist.

Motor vehicle having a tailgate arrangement consisting of a pivotable lower tailgate and a pivotable upper tailgate

A vehicle has a device for setting an open position of a tailgate, which can be pivoted upwards and, after an opening command to a first control unit, can be adjusted into a predefined open position via an adjusting device. The vehicle has a device for setting a predefined vehicle height, which device includes a second control unit for actuating an active wheel suspension system. Lowering of the vehicle height is performed at the same time as the opening of the tailgate, by way of a communications link between the first control unit and the second control unit and by way of corresponding programming of at least one of the two control units. The simultaneous opening of the tailgate and lowering of the vehicle height are prevented if a blocking command for this function is present in one of the two control units.

Vehicle having a device for setting an open position of an upwardly pivotable tailgate, and a method of operating the vehicle

A vehicle control system for an automatically opening and/or automatically closing flap, includes a programmable operating switch and a programmable electronic control device. The operating switch is a proximity sensor that is actuatable in a non-contact manner and, after the actuation occurs, generates an operation request signal as an input signal to the control device. In the presence of the operation request signal and, as required, of at least one further condition, the control device emits a command to a closing mechanism for opening or closing the flap. The control device and/or the operating switch is programmed such that the operation request signals are counted as long as at least a first defined condition has not yet been met, and that, when a defined maximal counter reading has been reached, the operation request signals will be ignored until at least a second defined condition has been met.

Control device for a vehicle having an automatically opening and/or automatically closing flap

Hinge, particularly for a vehicle flap, having two hinge parts and an axle bolt which, axially inserted into aligned openings in the hinge parts, forms a swivelling axis for the hinge parts. One hinge part is in areas axially arranged either between two legs of the other hinge part or in each case between an axial supporting shoulder of the axle bolt and of the other hinge part. At least two axially adjacent surfaces of the two hinge parts or of one hinge part and of the axle bolt, which are mutually adjusted during the swivelling of at least one hinge part, are sloped in the same direction with respect to an ideal plane perpendicular to the swivelling axis of the axle bolt, whereby, in one angular position, the two hinge parts have an axial distance from one another and, in another angular position, the two hinge parts have no distance from one another or have a smaller axial distance from one another.
