A method for the coordinated control of mechanical, electrical and thermal power flows in a motor vehicle for bringing about optimum operating states of units in the motor vehicle, and a device for carrying out the method. An optimum operating state (x) for the unit system is determined in a module which receives as input variables at least the setpoint values provided by a second module after the variables determined by a third module have been combined together with additional specified variables in the second module, and the actual operating state (x) from a fourth module after the measured variables (y) resulting from the determination of the state of the units of the unit system have been combined in the fourth module; and after the optimum operating state (x) for the unit system is determined, the setpoint operating state (x) is determined in a fifth module, based on the actual operating state (x) and the optimum operating state (x), so that due to this fifth module, a smooth transition is effected between the instantaneous operating state (x) and the operating state (x) to be achieved.

A method for controlling a hybrid drive of a vehicle is described, the hybrid drive including as propulsion motors an internal combustion engine and at least one electric motor/generator, and the output shafts of the propulsion motors being operatively linkable to a power train of the vehicle. The propulsion motors and an electrically activatable braking system of the vehicle are activated in a coordinated manner as a function of a negative torque request, taking this negative torque request into account.

A coordinated control of a drive train during a gear shift is described. The core of the control lies in establishing an optimal system trajectory for the states of the internal combustion engine and the clutch for the shift operation and in supplying this trajectory to a subordinate control and regulation. Here, the determination of the optimal system trajectory occurs as a function of the stipulations of a higher-order system for controlling the drive train. In particular, it is provided for the optimal system trajectory to be adapted to the driving situation, the driver type, the operating conditions of the assemblies, and the state of the assemblies themselves. Here, the determination of the optimal system trajectory occurs via a real-time optimization algorithm that is executed during driving operation. In this manner, optimal shift operation is attained under all operating conditions that unites a high degree of comfort with a low loss of traction.

Control system for a motor vehicle automatic gearbox and method for operating said control system

The invention is directed to a system for adjusting a transmission ratio in a transmission built into a motor vehicle. The system includes at least two transmission ratio criteria with which first transmission ratios are determined based on at least two different determining modes. The system also includes a first arrangement with the aid of which a second transmission ratio is selected in accordance with a pregiven prioritization from the determined first transmission ratios. The transmission ratio is then adjusted in dependence upon the selected second transmission ratio. In an advantageous configuration of the invention, a second arrangement is provided with which the second transmission ratio is modified in accordance with a pregiven strategy. The transmission ratio is then adjusted in dependence upon the modified second transmission ratio.

The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for controlling an adjusting speed for a change of an actual transmission ratio into a steady-state desired transmission ratio (shifting operation) for a continuously variable transmission mounted in the drive train of a motor vehicle. A method and a device are described for controlling a drive train of a vehicle having a gas pedal activated by a driver of the vehicle. A setpoint value is formed for a drive torque or a setpoint value for a drive power as a function of the position of a gas pedal. The drive train is then controlled in a such a way that the drive torque or the drive power is set as a function of the setpoint value formed. An interval with pre-definable interval limits is determined. The interval limits represent maximum and minimum values for the drive torque or the drive power to be set. The setpoint values are formed as a function of the determined interval. The basis for an optimal adaptation of the drive torque or the drive power to be set to the driver's preference and to the prevailing driving condition is made possible.
