A device and a method for extending a film web along a longitudinal direction thereof include guiding the film web in a travel direction over several rollers, and extending the film web in at least one straining gap which is limited by at least two rollers operated with different circumferential speeds. The web is provided with a temperature gradient, which extends in the direction perpendicular relative to the longitudinal axis of the film web.

Straining device and method for extending a film web

An apparatus for the longitudinal stretching of a film web includes at least one heater in which the film web can be heated, at least one cooling device in which the film web can be cooled, and at least a stretching unit in which the film web is stretched in its longitudinal direction. The stretching unit has a first transport roller having a first peripheral speed in the stretching operation, followed by a second transport roller having a second peripheral speed along the transport path of the film web from the first transport roller, with the second peripheral speed being greater than the first transport roller speed. The apparatus includes a pressing device with which the film web is pressed against the first transport roller along a line which is in the area of the release line of the film web from the first transport roller.

Device and method for longitudinally stretching a film web

A device for the production of film tubes includes a die head having an annular nozzle, from which a plastic melt for producing the film tube can be extruded in a transport direction (y), a fluid-application device, which is annular in shape at least in certain regions and which follows the die head in the transport direction (y) and which surrounds the film tube annularly, and via which a fluid can be guided toward the film tube, and a ring, the diameter of which is larger than the annular nozzle of the fluid-application device. The device has an adjusting device, via which the ring can be adjusted in height relative to the fluid-application device.

Device and method for producing film tubing

A deviation device for a film web has at least one deviation element, which operatively interacts with the film web at the point of deviation of the film web and guides the film web on an air cushion. The deviation element can be rotated and has a drive device, which sets the deviation element into rotation so that the peripheral speed of the deviation element differs from the transport speed of the film web.

Deviation device for a web of film

An air ring with increased-control over the gauge uniformity of blown plastic film in a film extrusion device. The air ring includes a generally annular plenum, an annular orifice for discharging cooling air against an extruded plastic tube passing through the air ring, and a flow path for cooling air between the plenum and the annular orifice. The air flow path is segmented along a circumference of the annular plenum, the segments including a material with high heat conductivity and guiding the air from the annular plenum to the orifice. Heating elements are provided for individually and selectively heating the segments of the air flow path such that the temperature of the cooling air discharge against the extruded plastic tube can be locally varied.

A device for continuous winding of webs on winding shafts onto winding rollers consisting of arms supporting the winding shaft, a pressure roller that can be engaged on the winding shaft or winding core, a knife separating the web during the roller change, and of a charging electrode supplying the web start with an electrostatic charge, which attaches the web start, newly formed by the web cut, on the winding shaft. In order to always maintain the correct equal distance to the web supplied with the charge, the same is tracked in such a manner that the distance of the charging electrode to the web remains constant regardless of the diameter of the winding shaft.

Device for continuous winding of webs

An extruder die head for producing multilayered tubes made of thermoplastic material exhibits a central annular channel, which is provided with an annular outlet die. Into the outer limiting wall of the channel empty annular slits, which feed a polymer melt and which constitute the smaller diameter openings of truncated channels, formed between the internal and external shells of stacked, conical insert members. To reduce the axial length of the extruder die head, the annular slits, feeding the polymer melts, also empty into the inside wall of the central annular channel. The annular slits are the smaller diameter openings of truncated channels, formed between the internal and external shells of stacked conical internal insert members.

Extruder die head

An extruder die head comprises an internal cylindrical mandrel and a shell, which encloses said mandrel concentrically. Between said mandrel and shell an annular channel is formed that empties into the die slit. A polymer melt is fed through a line to the annular channel. To prevent the polymer melt in the area of the start of the annular channel from penetrating into a slit that forms between the mandrel and the shell due to heat expansion, there is between both mandrel and shell a ring with such a coefficient of thermal expansion that when heated up due to the polymer melt said ring seals the slit between the shell and the mandrel.

An extruder die head, preferably a blown film head, has an internal cylindrical mandrel and a cylindrical jacket, which envelops concentrically the mandrel. Between the mandrel and jacket an annular channel is formed that empties into a die slit. At least one melt-supplying line empties into the annular channel in the area opposite the die slit. To avoid slits between the central mandrel and the jacket, enveloping the mandrel, where the polymer melt can accumulate and deposit, the mandrel is made as one piece with a flange-like foot and is provided in the area, adjacent to the foot, with at least one borehole, which feeds in the melt. On the mandrel adjacent to the foot is shrunk a ring, which seals the slit between both the mandrel and jacket. The cylindrical jacket is mounted above and connected sealingly to the shrunk-on ring to form the annular channel.

A high strength, stretched, polyethylene plastic film is described. To obtain better stretchability, the film includes an effective amount of an acetate polymer. Typically, the polyethylene film contains up to 10% of acetate polymer. A suitable acetate polymer is polyvinyl acetate. A process for the production of a high strength polyethylene plastic film including an acetate polymer is also described.
