A method is for the production of a scintillator fiber. In an embodiment, the method includes provisioning a suspension of a binder dissolved in a solvent and a scintillator material; and pressing the suspension into a precipitation bath in which the binder is insoluble.

Ceramic scintillator fiber

An x-ray detector with a scintillator element connected to a detection area of a photodiode via an optically transparently curing adhesive. To increase the sensitivity of the x-ray detector, it is proposed to mix the adhesive with a powder prepared from a material with a refractive index of at least 1.8 and an average grain size of less than 100 nm.

X-ray detector

A collimator is disclosed. The ends of collimator plates are potted with the aid of a top plate and a bottom plate with the formation of interspaces, defined by spacings, between the collimator plates. When producing such a collimator, the top and bottom plates are produced using a casting method, and the collimator plates are simultaneously cast in, in order to fix them in the bottom and top plates. For this production method, a reusable holding apparatus that holds the collimator plates, and a casting mold are provided for aligning and positioning purposes.

A luminescent body is for an X-ray detector, in particular for an X-ray computer tomograph. It contains a ceramic of the general composition (MLn)OS, M being at least one element selected from the group: Y, La, Sc, Lu and/or Gd, and Ln being at least one element selected from the group: Eu, Ce, Pr, Tb, Yb, Dy, Sm and/or Ho. In order to improve the spatial resolution of the luminescent body, the ceramic is used in the form of fibers, which are connected in a parallel alignment to constitute a fiber plate.

A radiation detector is disclosed for the detection of ionizing radiation, preferably in a medical diagnosis and/or therapy system, having at least one detector element which is at least partially enclosed by an encapsulation compound. The encapsulation compound at least partially reflects light which is produced during the absorption of the ionizing radiation in the at least one detector element. Further, the detection of the radiation is carried out indirectly by detection of the generated light, wherein the encapsulation compound is made of a multicomponent mixture which converts compounds produced because of radiation, which generate color changes of the encapsulation compound, at least partially into colorless nonabsorbing compounds.

Radiation detector

An X-ray detector is for a CT device and includes a phosphor layer for generating electromagnetic radiation as a function of the occurrence of X-radiation, and a photodetector layer for detecting the electromagnetic radiation generated by the phosphor layer. The phosphor layer includes ceramic material and the photodetector layer includes organic material. A process is further for producing an X-ray detector, including the steps of producing a phosphor layer from a ceramic material and applying a photodetector layer made from an organic material to the phosphor layer via a spinning, printing or beam/jet process or by sticking it on as a film. It is optionally possible to provide a further process step for polishing the surface of the phosphor layer before applying the photodetector layer.

An image detector for an x-ray device includes photosensors which have at least two contacts on which an electrical signal occurs when x-rays are detected. In each case, at least one contact of the photosensors is arranged on its rear side, facing away from the image source. Further, the material used for the photosensors is an organic photodiode material.

An image detector is for detecting electromagnetic radiation, in particular X-ray radiation. It includes a carrier layer and a photosensor carried by the carrier layer. Each of the carrier layer and photosensor both have a nonvanishing transparency to the electromagnetic radiation. The image detector includes two or more carrier layers and photosensors carried thereby, arranged one above the other, so that the electromagnetic radiation can pass through them one after the other.

A phosphor for a high energy radiation detector is formed by a rare earth oxisulfide having the general sum formula (M.sub.1-x Ln.sub.x).sub.2 O.sub.2 S, wherein M is at least one element of the group Y, La and Gd, Ln stands for at least one element of the group Eu, Ce, Pr, Tb, Yb, Dy, Sm and Ho, and whereby (2.times.10.sup.-1).gtoreq..times..gtoreq.(1.times.10.sup.-6), which also contains molybdenum in a proportion between 10.sup.-1 and 10.sup.-6 mol percent for reducing the afterglow of the phosphor.

For manufacturing a scintillator ceramic of a rare earth oxisulfide, a pigment powder is compressed by single-axis hot-pressing to form a ceramic member having at least 99.9% of the theoretic density, the pigment powder having the general formula (M.sub.1 xLn.sub.x).sub.2 O.sub.2 S, whereby M denotes at least one element from the group Y, La and Gd, Ln represents at least one element from the group Eu, Ce, Pr, Tb, Yb, Dy, Sm and Ho, and whereby 1.times.10.sup.-6 .ltoreq.x.ltoreq.2.times.10.sup.-1, and the powder having a specific surface according to BET of at least 10 m.sup.-2 /g.
