Described is an apparatus for calibrating a position finding device, having a comparer for comparing a received radio signal pattern to a multitude of reference radio signal patterns, a determiner for determining a signal strength difference, and a determiner for determining a calibration value. The comparer for comparing is configured to select a selection subset from the multitude of reference radio signal patterns by means of a measure of matching between the received radio signal pattern and one reference radio signal pattern, respectively. Determination of the calibration value is based on the signal strength difference, and the determiner for determining the calibration value is further configured to provide the calibration value to the position finding device. Also described are a position finding device for radio-based localization, having such an apparatus for calibrating, a method of calibrating a position finding device based on radio-based localization, and a computer program for performing the method are described.

Apparatus and method for calibrating a radio positioning based position finding device

A transmitter for sending data packets over a time-multiplexed channel includes a time slot selector for selecting a time slot for transmitting a data packet; and a data packet position selector for selecting a data packet time position within the selected time slot, wherein the data packet time position is selected anew for at least every idata packet. The transmitter is configured for transmitting the data packet in the selected time slot and the selected data packet position within the selected time slot. A method for transmitting data packet is also disclosed. Furthermore, a receiver, a method for receiving data packets and a computer program are additionally described.

Method for network organization

At a current position, a measurement packet is determined by a mobile terminal device at a measurement time. The measurement packet includes transmitter identifications of radio transmitters receivable at the current position of the mobile terminal device at the measurement time. By means of reference measurement packets provided to the mobile terminal device, the mobile terminal device itself can determine its current position. Additionally, a deviation of the determined transmitter identifications of the measurement packet from reference transmitter identifications of the reference measurement packets is determined. If a deviation of the reference transmitter identifications from the transmitter identifications determined at the current position is detected, experience messages can be generated that can again result in an update measure as, for example, updating the reference database by adding new transmitter identifications to the reference database and/or removing obsolete reference transmitter identifications from the reference database.

A data transmission device has a data transmitter and a wake-up receiver. The data transmitter is activable to change from an idle state into an operating state and to execute a data transmission with a communication partner in the operating state. The wake-up receiver is implemented to be ready to receive an initiation signal during the idle state of the data transmitter and to activate the data transmitter in response to the initiation signal. The wake-up receiver is further implemented to extract data transmission information from the initiation signal to determine a time for activating the data transmitter depending on the data transmission information or to activate the data transmitter such that the data transmitter executes the data transmission depending on the data transmission information.

A device for determining a device position, which includes a receiver for receiving signals of a plurality of transmitters and a determiner for determining reception powers of the signals of the plurality of transmitters. The device further includes a provider for providing transmitter positions of the transmitters on the basis of the signals of the plurality of transmitters. A DECT transmit-receive terminal comprises a plurality of transmit-receive antennas for communicating with a DECT base station, a device for determining the quality of a communications connection between the DECT transmit-receive terminal and the DECT base station, and a means for switching over from one transmit-receive antenna to another transmit-receive antenna, said switch-over means being connected to the determining device for switching over if the quality of the communications connection is below a predetermined threshold. An antenna diversity effect is thus realized for the DECT transmit-receive terminal by means of which the transmission quality of the communications connection is improved.
