An electric motor-and-gear assembly for driving vehicle aggregates such as windshield and rear window wipers, power-window units and the like, having a transmission housing that can be closed by a housing cover. A motor housing that contains a commutator motor whose commutator protrudes into the transmission housing and cooperates with a brush holder fixed in the transmission housing. For the sake of a more reasonably priced manufacture and a time-saving, more rapid assembly of the brush holder, the commutator brushes are embodied as hammer brushes with spring leaf actuators prestressed toward the commutator. The second bearing is embodied as a ball bearing with an outer ring, an inner ring, and balls. The inner ring is press-fitted in a rotationally fixed manner onto the armature shaft. The outer ring is slid into a receiving bore disposed in the transmission housing and is pressed against an axial stop face adjoining the receiving bore by means of a retaining part that is supported in an installation channel and has flexible tongues that are directed toward the outer ring. This axial pressing can be produced in an easy-to-assemble fashion and is also inexpensive thanks to a low cost of the retaining part. The proposed electrical drive unit can be used, for example, for at least one windshield wiper of a vehicle.

An electric drive unit, for windshield wipers of a motor vehicle, including a drive motor, having an armature accommodated in a substantially cup-shaped pole housing, and including a gearbox, secured by a face end to the pole housing for receiving at least one worm, wheel supported on a power takeoff shaft. The worm wheel engages a worm connected to an armature shaft of the drive motor. The power takeoff shaft is supported in an eccentric bush which is rotatable to set the axial spacing between the armature shaft and the power takeoff shaft and can be mounted in the rotated state, in a manner fixed against relative rotation, in the gearbox. The eccentric bush is embodied in a graduated fashion, such that it has a larger diameter on a side toward the flange than on another side remote from the flange.

A method of balancing an electronically driven air blower unit comprising a radial blower with a high-speed electronically commutated d.c. motor which drives the blower and which is of external rotor design, utilizing a balancing device into which the completely mounted air blower unit (1) can be inserted, without housing lid, and with which electrical contact (101, 102, 103; 201, 202, 203) can be made. The balancing device is provided with a control device for the motor (3, 4, 5) of the air blower unit and with a device (9) for bridging the motor electronics (10) of the air blower unit (1) itself. In order to drive the part to balanced of the air blower unit, its electromechanical transducer (3, 4, 5) is used, which for this purpose is actuated by the control device provided in the balancing device. The balancing process is essentially carried out in two compensation planes which are spaced axially from one another and are parallel with one another. This takes place on the one hand in a first compensation plane in the plane of the radial blower with possible erosion of material, and on the other hand in the second compensation plane, which lies opposite in the region of the end side of the external rotor (5), with possible attachment of material.
