An earphone including a proximity sensor, an acceleration sensor, and a signal analysis device. The signal analysis device identifies an approaching movement of the earphone to an object using the proximity sensor signal. The signal analysis device ascertains whether the approaching movement is a movement of the earphone to an ear of the user. By filtering the acceleration sensor signal, the signal analysis device generates a high-pass filtered acceleration signal and a low-pass filtered acceleration signal. The signal analysis device determines an end time of the approaching movement based on a stabilization of the acceleration, using the low-pass filtered acceleration signal. The signal analysis device confirms that the approaching movement is a movement of the earphone to an ear of the user based on changes in the high-pass filtered acceleration signal after the ascertained end time of the approaching movement.

A method for determining an orientation of a movable device. The method includes the steps: determining an extent of the change of the orientation on the basis of data of at least one first sensor unit, comparing the extent to a predetermined threshold value, if the threshold value is exceeded, switching on a second sensor unit if it is in a switched-off state and determining the orientation with the aid of the first sensor unit and the second sensor unit, at an undershoot of the threshold value or if the extent is equal to the threshold value, switching off the second sensor unit, if it is in a switched-on state, and ascertaining the orientation with the aid of the first sensor unit.

Method for determining an orientation of a movable device

Adjusting of calibration parameters for a sensor. The adjusted calibration parameters may be used to correct the raw data of the sensor. It is provided to calculate new calibration parameters only when accuracy of the calibration parameters currently available is no longer adequate, and suitable measurement data are available for a recalibration of the sensor. Otherwise, the components necessary for calibrating the sensor data may be deactivated in order to reduce energy consumption.

Method for calibrating a sensor system

A method for offset calibration of a rotation rate sensor signal of a rotation rate sensor. In a first step, an ascertainment is made that the rotation rate sensor is in an idle state. In a second step, after the first step, a filter parameter is determined as a function of the measured rotation rate sensor values, measured in the idle state, of the rotation rate sensor. In a third step, after the second step, a filtered measured rotation rate sensor value is determined with the aid of the filter parameter. An offset is determined with the aid of the filtered measured rotation rate sensor value.
