A tool holder is provided comprising a base body for coupling with a drive spindle that can be driven rotatingly, whereon a clamping chuck for clamping a tool is provided, further comprising a damping element arranged between the base body and the clamping chuck, wherein the damping element is made of an elastomeric material or of a shape memory alloy, and wherein the clamping chuck is solely connected to the base body by means of the damping element.

Disclosed is a tool system including a drive for driving a tool holder including an electromagnetic generator for generating electrical energy from inertial energy of the tool holder. The tool holder may be driven in rotation, wherein the electromagnetic generator comprises a rotor part, which is rotatably mounted on the tool holder, and a stator part on the tool holder cooperating with each other for generating a voltage by electromagnetic induction. Alternatively, an axially movable inertial mass can be used for utilization of an oscillating linear movement.

The invention discloses a tool clamping system comprising a tool holder for clamping a tool, said tool holder being configured for being driven rotatingly; a tool secured to the tool holder; a tool shaft carried by the tool; at least one cutting edge carried by the tool; at least one piezo element for generating a voltage from mechanical vibration energy of the rotating tool clamping system; and at least one delay element selected form the group consisting of an inductor and a capacitor being connected to the at least one piezo element so as to form an electrical oscillating circuit, wherein the oscillating circuit is configured for monitoring at least one operating parameter of the tool clamping system.

The invention relates to a server connected to a network on which a database application is running for collecting and managing data. The server is connected to several machine tools and has means for receiving identification data and/or identification data and/or operating parameters and/or dynamic information items with respect to the tools. Static information about the tools are stored in the database, and the server processes the received data, parameters and information items to generate updated information about the tools.

The invention relates to a machining center for work piece machining. The machining center comprises a machine frame, a machine spindle driven by a motor and rotatably arranged on the machine frame, and a group of machine tools that can be exchanged on the machine spindle. The machine tools comprise a coupling shaft that is compatible with a holder of the machine spindle. Furthermore, a rotary transmitter for electric energy is provided, having a stator fixed to the machine in a stationary manner and a rotor rotating along with the machine spindle. It is claimed as novel that the rotary transmitter comprises at least two transmission paths for electric energy which can be selected according to the electric power to be transmitted and the rotational speed of the spindle to be set and which can be activated in the coupled state of the machine tool. At least one first transmission path between the stator and rotor is designed in a non-contact way, while at least one second transmission path between the stator and rotor is provided with contacting contacts. With said measures, complete machining of the workpieces can be made possible when clamped in the machining center.

The invention relates to a machine tool having a machine frame, a motor-driven machine spindle rotatably mounted on the machine frame, and at least one exchangeable processing head on the machine spindle. The processing head comprises a coupling element compatible with a receiving portion of the machine spindle. Furthermore, a rotary transmitter for data transfer between a stator fixed to the frame and a rotor fixed to the spindle is provided. The invention is characterized in that the machine spindle comprises a plurality of function modules on the spindle side as well as a line system forming a component of a spindle bus to which the function modules on the spindle side are connected to form subscriber stations of the spindle bus and wherein the spindle bus communicates via the rotary transmission path with a field bus fixed to the frame.

A machine tool having a motor-driven machine spindle which can be rotated about a spindle axis. The machine spindle has a tool holder arranged at the face. A tool is exchangeably arranged on the machine spindle. The tool has a coupling element which is compatible with the tool holder of the machine spindle. The coupling element has a rear surface pointing toward the machine spindle. The machine tool has at least one galvanic contact point for the electric current or data transmission, the point being arranged between the machine spindle and the tool and rotating together with the machine spindle. The galvanic contact point has a contact element which is arranged at the face of the tool holder on the spindle side, and a contact element which is arranged on the rear surface of the coupling element on the tool side.

The main body () of a machine tool () comprises a plate seat () having a plate element () arranged thereon. The plate element () has at least one plate edge (), which protrudes freely to the outside over the plate seat () and rests against a bottom support surface of the plate seat (). In order to adjust the plate edge () of the plate element (), an adjustment device () is associated with at least one brace () and enables the brace () to be raised and lowered with respect to the bottom support surface of the plate seat (). A linear guide () is provided for said at least one brace (), said guide absorbing the forces and torque occurring during the adjustment of the plate element () and introducing them into the main body () of the machine tool ().

A tool head includes a working slide which can be adjusted relative to a basic body, and an electric adjusting motor which acts on the working slide via gears. The motor includes a stator and a rotor which runs round in the stator, bears an output shaft and is mounted in two pivot bearings arranged at a distance from one another, wherein one of the pivot bearings is arranged with an outer ring in a basic body-mounted stator housing and with an inner ring directly or indirectly on the output shaft.
