Thermoplastic composite pipe with multilayer intermediate lamina

A process for producing a thermoplastic composite pipe is provided. The thermoplastic composite pipe thus produced contains a liner, two or more composite layers composed of tape laminas, and a single- or multilayer intermediate lamina arranged between different composite layers. Composite formation between identical polymers in the process achieves improved adhesion. The thermoplastic composite pipe is especially suitable for offshore applications in oil or gas production.

A process for the production of a pipe comprising: an interior surface having a shape; and a thermoplastic inliner is provided. The process comprises: introducing the thermoplastic inliner into the interior of the pipe; heating the pipe from the outside to a temperature higher than a crystallite melting point (T) of a molding composition of an exterior surface of the inliner; expanding the inliner radially in the pipe so that an exterior surface of the inliner assumes the shape of the interior surface of the pipe; and cooling the inliner; wherein a cross section of the inliner is optionally reduced through exposure to an exterior force prior to being introduced into the pipe. Relative movements between carrier pipe and inliner are thus prevented; the risk of collapse of the inliner is moreover low. The pipe is used for the production of a laid pipeline.

Process for the production of a pipe lined with an inliner

A heatable line pipe useful for diesel fuel systems and fuel cell systems is provided. The heatable line pipe comprises in order from an inside of the pipe: a) an electrically insulating inner layer; b) a first electrically conductive layer; c) at least two current leads wound spirally around the first electrically conductive layer; d) a second electrically conductive layer over the at least two current leads forming a surface; and e) an outer cladding of an electrically insulating plastic material. The thickness of the second electrically conductive layer is 0.1 to 1.5 mm, and the at least two current leads form wave peaks in the surface of the second electrically conductive layer. The line pipe has the advantage that a fall in heating performance over the lifetime is effectively prevented.

Heatable line pipe and a method for producing the heatable pipe

A metallic pipe for contact with a hydrolyzing medium provides longer operating times and improved high temperature resistance. The pipe contains a layer of a polyamide moulding composition containing at least 50% by weight of polyamide content containing: I) 60 to 98 parts by weight of a polyamide which contains 10 to 70 meq/kg of a terminal carboxy group and has a relative solution viscosity &#x3b7;of at least 1.90, and II) 2 to 40 parts by weight of a polyamine-polyamide graft copolymer produced from: a) 0.5 to 25% by weight, based on the entire monomer mixture, of a polyamine having at least 4 nitrogen atoms, and b) 75 to 99.5% by weight, based on the entire monomer mixture, of polyamide-forming monomers selected from lactams, &#x3c9;-aminocarboxylic acids and/or equimolar combinations of diamine and dicarboxylic acid, with the proviso that the amino group concentration of the graft copolymer is in the range from 100 to 2500 meq/kg, wherein the sum of the parts by weight of I) and II) is 100.

Metallic pipe having a hydrolysis-resistant layer of a polyamide moulding composition

A pipe or pipeline for use in the oil and gas industry for conveying lines, collection pipelines and transport pipelines with reduced operating risk and increased lifetime is provided. The pipe contains: a) an external reinforcement layer and b) an internal liner which comprises securely bonded to one another: I) a layer made of a thermoplastic molding composition selected from a polyolefin molding composition and a fluoropolymer molding composition and II) a layer made of a polyamide molding composition, wherein not only the polyamide molding composition but also the molding composition of the layer according to I) in essence comprises no blend component which is composed of another polymer and which has disperse distribution in the molding composition.

Multilayer pipe with polyamide layer

A flexible pipe of multilayer structure which comprises the following layers, from the inside to the outside: an interior lining; an inner reinforcement layer; a layer of molded electrically conductive plastic; an outer reinforcement layer; and an exterior sheath. The electrically conductive plastic layer is in electrical contact with the two reinforcement layers, and the two reinforcement layers can be connected to a source of electrical current. It is thus possible to achieve efficient heating of the pipe, and it can therefore be used for conveying oil in cold regions.

Temperature-controllable pipe

A flexible pipe which can be heated efficiently, and may therefore be used for conveying oil in cold regions, is provided. The pipe comprises in order from inside to outside: an interior lining; a wound tape; and at least one reinforcement layer. The wound tape contains a first exterior layer of a plastics molding composition that is not electrically conductive; an intermediate layer of an electrically conductive plastics molding composition; and a second exterior layer of a plastics molding composition that is not electrically conductive. A volume resistivity to IEC 60093 of the intermediate layer is in the range from 10to 10&#x3a9;m, and the intermediate layer comprises at least two metallic conductors embedded into the plastic molding composition along an entire length of the tape in such a way that, the two conductors do not touch one another.

A multilayer plastic pipe comprising at least three layers, which in turn comprise at least two different polymers, which are a polymer A (barrier layer polymer), which is a particularly good barrier against permeation of the medium to be carried through the pipes embedded in a polymer B (sheathing polymer) in the form of at least one layer which is interrupted at least once by a fillet of polymer B.
