A lamp (), which is particularly a motor vehicle headlight, comprises a burner () for emitting light, which is supported by a holder () for mechanically connecting the burner () with a socket (). The holder () comprises a metal ring () surrounding the burner (). The metal ring () is thermally connected to the burner () via a single connecting surface (), which is in planar contact to the burner () over an angle of &#x2265;350&#xb0; in circumferential direction. Due to the increased heat transfer to the environment the used materials are less subjected to heat, so that the overall lifetime and the shock resistance of the lamp () are increased at the same time.

Lamp, method for manufacturing a lamp and use of a holder for such a lamp

The invention describes a lamp (A,B,C,D) comprising a glass envelope () enclosing a light generating means (), and an axially and/or circumferentially graded absorption coating (A,B,C,D) applied to a surface of the glass envelope (), wherein the graded absorption coating (A,B,C,D) exhibits a smooth transition in a transition region (A,C,D) from a first coated region (A,B,C,D) on the glass envelope () to a second coated region (A,B,C,D) on the glass envelope (). The invention further describes a lighting assembly () comprising a lamp according to any of claimstoand a reflector () for collecting and shaping any light passing through the graded absorption coating (A,B,C,D) of the lamp (A,B,C,D). The invention also describes a method of manufacturing a lamp (A,B,C,D) comprising a glass envelope () enclosing a light generating means (), which method comprises applying an axially and/or circumferentially graded absorption coating (A,B,C,D) to a surface of the glass envelope () such that the graded absorption coating (A,B,C,D) exhibits a smooth transition in a transition region (A,B,C,D) from a first coated region (A,B,C,D) to a second coated region (A,B,C,D).

Lamp with graded absorption coating

A fastening system for fastening a lamp has at least one electrical source of radiant light, in place in a light system. Part of the lamp projects into an opening in the light system and is releasably connected thereto. At least three lugs take the form of electrical contacts and reference points in this case, and the areas of contact of the lug and lug-receptacle system are so arranged that, in the end position, their mating areas can be caused to mate in positive inter-engagement by an axially applied force.
