A spacer for keeping a distance between a bar-shaped inner conductor and an outer conductor of a filling level measuring probe. The spacer includes a ring and at least three supports, which respectively extend out of an inner surface of the ring in a radial direction. Each of the three supports has a curved front surface on an end, which is located away from the inner surface. The end, which is located away from the inner surface is engageable with an opening of the bar-shaped inner conductor.

A coaxial probe is for a TDR fill-level measuring instrument, in which probe the inner conductor is connected to the outer conductor via a terminating resistor. The terminating resistor is mounted in a cylindrical recess in the inner conductor and sealed with respect to the measuring environment. In this way, the measurement of the fill level in the region of the probe end can be improved.

The present invention relates to a guide-through assembly () for a filling level sensor working according to the principle of delay measurement of guided electromagnetic waves or for a capacitive filling level sensor, which for sealing the interior of the vessel against the interior of the sensor has no elastomeric sealing materials and in particular no elastomeric o-rings seals. This can be ensured by precisely machining the components which are essentially concentrically arranged in the guide-through assembly () on their circumferential surfaces (), so that in an assembled state the components arranged in the guide-through assembly (), such as the interior conductor () and the dielectric materials () surrounding the interior conductor (), contact each other at their mutually adjacent circumferential surfaces () in a sealing and positive engagement, so that additional sealing elements are not needed.

A device for use in measuring stratified fluid levels in a container is disclosed. The device has a microwave transceiver sensor head attached to a waveguide sensor rod which is enclosed by a gauge tube. The rod end tubes are comprised of sections which allow them to be assembled or disassembled in a close quarters environment. The tube has a plurality of circumferentially and longitudinally spaced slots providing for the equalization of stratified fluids within the tube. The rod is generally radially centered in the tube by the use of a plurality of spacers which reside in notches in the rod. The spacers are adapted to not penetrate the slots in the tube. The rod can be removed from the tube for cleaning without draining the tank. Additionally, once the rod is removed from the tube, a cleaner brush or scraper can be used to remove any barnacles or other debris from within the tube and the longitudinal slots in the tube.
