The invention relates to a system for monitoring a position of a distal end of a tube with respect to a blood vessel of a mammal. The system comprises a source for generating an outgoing beam of electromagnetic radiation having a predefined electromagnetic spectrum. The system furthermore comprises a guideway for guiding the outgoing beam to the distal end, and for guiding an incoming beam of electromagnetic radiation reflected by surroundings of the distal end in response to said outgoing beam to a measurement arrangement, which is arranged for measuring a parameter associated with an electromagnetic spectrum of the incoming beam. The system furthermore comprises a comparator arrangement for comparing said parameter with a reference parameter associated with a reference electromagnetic spectrum representing a predefined location of the distal end inside the mammal.

System for monitoring the position of a tube's distal end relative to a blood vessel

A medicament delivery device, which comprises a driving mechanism and a housing () having a reservoir (), which is at least partly filled with a substance and which is sealed at least on one side with a flexible wall (). Engagement of the drive element locking mechanism () with the payload element locking mechanism () secures the drive element () to the payload element (), thereby making the electronic capsule () operable and specific.

Medicament delivery apparatus

An apparatus for monitoring whether or not a distal end of a tube is positioned inside a blood vessel includes a heating element configured to heat the tube distal end, and a sensor arrangement configured to generate a measurement signal indicative for heat transferred by exterior of the distal end. The apparatus further includes a comparator configured to compare the measurement signal with a reference level. The reference level equals a value attained by the measurement signal in response to a minimum flow velocity in the blood vessel. Further, a system is configured to exchange a liquid with a mammal via a blood vessel. The system includes the apparatus having the tube.

A kit includes a swallowable capsule () with a potentiometric sensor (), such as a pH sensor, with an unfilled electrolyte cell (). The kit further includes a separate container () containing a liquid electrolyte. The kit can, e.g., be packed in a blister package. After unpacking the capsule the electrolyte cell () is filled with the electrolyte.

An ingestible electronic capsule () for introduction into the bodily lumen comprises a circuit board with at least one electronic component (). Ingestible electronic capsule and in vivo drug delivery or diagnostic system

A capsule and methodology for dispensing a medicament in the gastrointestinal tract of a mammal is disclosed, the gastrointestinal tract having tissue sites of interest. The capsule may include a medicament reservoir; medicament dispensing means such as a plurality of piezoelectric droplet jet nozzle dispensers; a power source; electronic control circuitry means and/or detecting means capable of communicating with a medicament dispensing means for regulating the amount and time interval for dispensing of the medicament into the gastrointestinal tract by the medicament dispensing means; and a non-digestible outer protective shell housing, e.g., the medicament reservoir, medicament dispensing means and electronic control circuitry means. A plurality of the nozzle dispensers of the medicament dispensing means can be positioned tangentially to a surface of the housing such that during release of a medicament, the capsule is caused to rotate and/or translate so as to discharge the medicament homogeneously onto tissue sites of interest. In addition, by using multiple nozzles and releasing medicament at high speed, this facilitates medicament absorption by the intestines in the gastrointestinal tract.
