A multilayered apertured film wrapping element for an absorbent article is disclosed. At least one outer layer of the fluid-impervious plastic material has a continuous phase of a thermoplastic polymeric component and an immiscible, dispersed phase of a thermoplastic polymeric component having a lower melting point. The wrapping element is useful in applications involving heat sealing and similar thermal processes in absorbent articles, such as sanitary napkins, diapers, bandages, tampons, and the like.

Multilayered apertured film wrapping element for absorbent articles

A method for making an apertured film for use as a topsheet in absorbent products wherein the film is corona treated on one side, and has received a surfactant application that is distributed to both the corona treated and non-corona treated sides of the film. A method for application of surfactant includes applying the surfactant to one side of the film and rolling the film into a roll while the surfactant is still wet in order to apply surfactant to both sides of the film.

Method for making an apertured film coated with a surface-active agent

A thin absorbent product for adhesive attachment to a wearer's garment is provided with means for resisting deformation when worn or applied. Such means comprise providing on the garment facing major surface of the absorbent pad of such product, a densified, compacted, porous, absorbent, fibrous layer having a particulate hydrocolloid material distributed therein. Said densified layer provides the product with planar crush resistance.
