Disclosed are copolycarbonate compositions comprising structural units of Formula I ##STR1## Formula II ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 represents --CH.sub.3, --C.sub.2 H.sub.5, or propyl; A is a divalent organic moiety; and wherein the ratio of Formula I to Formula II in the copolycarbonate is from about 99.8:0.2 to about 90:10.

Reaction mixtures prepared from tetraalkyl titanates and mixtures of glycols, said reaction mixtures comprising titanium bisglycoxide oligomers, may be used as depolymerization catalysts for conversion of linear polyesters to macrocyclic polyester oligomers.

The invention relates to a novel process for depolymerizing polyesters by subjecting the polyesters to catalysts and organic solvents which are substantially free of oxygen and water in order to produce macrocyclic polyester oligomers substantially free of hydroxybutyl terminated linear impurities.

Process for depolymerizing polyesters

Macrocyclic polyester oligomer compositions are polymerized to high molecular weight polyesters by heating with a titanate ester composition comprising moieties having oxygen or nitrogen chelated with a titanium atom or having two titanium atom connected by alkylene ester units. Depending on the chemical nature of the initiator, the polymerization reaction may be extremely rapid as desired for structural reaction injection molding, or may have an induction period as desired for resin transfer molding.
