A closure having enhanced oxygen barrier capabilities includes a cap body formed from a first material, the cap body defining a cavity therethrough, a stopper formed from a second material, the second material being different than the first material and disposed within the cavity, and a barrier layer formed from a third material, the third material being different than at least the second material and associated with at least one of the cap body and the stopper. A container assembly including a closure and a method of forming the closure is also provided.

The present invention is directed to a method of assembling a container including an inner tube contained within an outer tube. The method includes providing an outer tube, providing a spacing element adjacent the open top of the outer tube and inserting an inner tube within the outer tube. The spacing element provides for venting of air from between the inner and outer tubes through the top of the container during assembly thereof.

Container assembly and method for making assembly

A method of assembling a container including an inner tube contained within an outer tube. The method includes providing an outer tube, providing a spacing element adjacent the open top of the outer tube and inserting an inner tube within the outer tube. The spacing element provides for venting of air from between the inner and outer tubes through the top of the container during assembly thereof.

A plurality of container assemblies are provided. Each container assembly has substantially identical external dimensions. However, the internal volumes of certain container assemblies differ from the internal volumes of other container assemblies. The container assemblies are configured in accordance with the required volume of material to be collected or maintained in the respective container assemblies and to enable uniform head spaces despite the different volumes of materials in the respective container assemblies. Each container assembly may have an inner container and an outer container. The inner and outer containers may be assembled together or formed integrally by molding.
