A new and distinct cultivar ofplant named 'N40W-5-1', characterized by small to medium, nearly seedless fruit with a unique and robust sweet flavor; compact growth habit; flavorful juice; and fragrant fruit with a smooth rind. The newcultivar also is more tolerant to HLB than most mandarin varieties, especially when trees are supplemented with controlled release fertilizer (CRF) containing an enhanced micronutrient package.

A new and distinct sweet orange clone 'OLL-20' has been developed from an unstable sweet orange selection designated as 'OLL', using tissue culture techniques. Undeveloped ovules from fruit of selection 'OLL' were cultured in vitro to generate an embryogenic callus, from which multiple independent clones were regenerated via somatic embryogenesis. Regenerated plantlets (somaclones) were grafted to UFR rootstocks and grown in the field for evaluation.

The new and distinct sweet orange tree described herein originated as a 'Valencia' somaclone tree regenerated from protoplasts isolated from an embryogenic suspension culture of standard 'Valencia' (L. A new and distinct sweet orange clone, 'OLL-4' was produced via embryonic callus (tissue culture) from an original tree selection ('OLL') from an abandoned USDA field trial. 'OLL-4' produces easy-to-peel, round oranges with excellent internal and external color. Trees of &#x2018;OLL-4&#x2019; exhibit improved cold and drought tolerance over industry standard oranges, and do not seem to exhibit alternate bearing.
