An Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) system may be installed in a wellbore for imparting an uphole thrust to wellbore fluids. Each component of the ESP system may have a hollow interior such that a longitudinal passageway is defined therethrough. The longitudinal passageway permits the passage of a variety of tools to perform logging operations, workover operations and/or other rig-less interventions without removing ESP system from the wellbore. A filter may be provided within the longitudinal passageway to prevent solids from entering the ESP system. The filter may rest on a profile provided within an intake of the ESP system such that the filter may be removed or replaced by rig-less slickline operations.

Hollow electrical submersible pump for unlimited wellbore intervention

A method of providing a cemented open hole intelligent completion in a well containing an open hole having a perimeter in which plurality of laterals are embedded. The method comprises deploying a first string section in a portion of the open hole containing the plurality of laterals, the first section having intelligent completion components including control valves, gauges and control lines operable from a surface station, deploying a second string section coupled to and positioned above the first string section and above the plurality of laterals including a setting packer, and delivering cement downhole that sets in a cemented section comprising an annulus between the second string and the perimeter of the open hole. The cemented section is positioned above the plurality of laterals so as to block fluids from production while not interfering with communication between the surface and the intelligent components of the first string.

Methods and systems for cemented open hole intelligent completions in multilateral wells requiring full isolation of gas cap, fractures and / or water bearing boundaries

A milling and wellbore metal recovery assembly includes a milling assembly that can mill a casing disposed in a wellbore. A primary debris removal assembly is connected to the milling assembly and can reside uphole of the milling assembly. The primary debris removal assembly can clear debris resulting from the milling assembly milling the casing disposed in the wellbore by reverse circulating wellbore fluid in an uphole direction from an annulus formed by the wellbore and through the primary debris removal assembly. A second debris removal assembly is connected to the primary debris removal assembly, and can reside uphole of the primary debris removal assembly. The secondary debris removal assembly can clear debris resulting from the milling assembly milling the casing by circulating wellbore fluid in a downhole direction through the secondary debris removal assembly and then in the uphole direction through the annulus towards a surface of the wellbore.

Milling and wellbore metal debris recovery assembly

An apparatus includes a scale removal head, a scale collector, a circulating plate assembly, and a guide. The scale removal head includes a plurality of blades that scrape against a wall of a wellbore to remove scale from the wall of the wellbore in response to rotation of the apparatus. The scale collector defines a first inner region within a surrounding slotted chamber. The circulating plate assembly defines a second inner region within a pipe. The first inner region and the second inner region together define a collection volume for accumulating and storing scale that has been removed from the wall of the wellbore. The guide includes a plurality of blades that scrape against the wall of the wellbore to remove scale from the wall of the wellbore as the apparatus rotates.

Removal and collection of wellbore scale and debris

A method is disclosed that includes deploying a jet pump assembly from a surface location into a production tubing of a depleted volatile oil reservoir, the jet pump assembly including retractable tubing, a jet pump and a retractable packer operatively connected with the retractable tubing. The jet pump assembly is positioned within the production tubing, the retractable packer is engaged to bridge a space between the jet pump assembly and a surface of the production tubing, and the jet pump is activated to pump toward the surface location a mixture comprising a power fluid and reservoir fluid. The method further includes disengaging the retractable packer and determining whether there is an underbalance condition. Also disclosed are a related jet pump assembly and bi-directional valve arrangement. The valve arrangement includes upper and lower valves, and retains power fluid in retractable tubing during retraction of a jet pump assembly from production tubing.

Methods and apparatus for underbalance condition assurance in depleted volatile oil reservoirs

Embodiments for determining a stuck pipe location include determining that a pipe is stuck in a wellbore due to an obstruction; deploying a fiber optic stuck pipe location detector inside the pipe, activating a first fiber optic sensor to detect a baseline reading, and manipulating the pipe. Some embodiments include detecting micro-noises caused by the stretching of the pipe, wirelessly acquiring data related to the micro-noises from the first fiber optic sensor, and determining a location of the obstruction by comparing the baseline reading with the data related to the micro-noises. Some embodiments include recovering the pipe at a predetermined point around the location of the obstruction while leaving the first fiber optic sensor inside the pipe.
