An air mover assembly may include an air mover, a circuit board electrically coupled to the air mover via a plurality of electrical wires, a housing configured to house the circuit board and including hard stops configured to mechanically engage with side edges of the circuit board to retain the circuit board in a fixed position relative to the housing, and a cover configured to mechanically engage with the housing such that the cover and the housing at least partially enclose the circuit board.

An information handling system includes a processing system, a side wall, and a spring. The side wall includes a mounting stud and a capture mechanism to retain a second processing system. The capture mechanism includes a mounting bracket movably affixed to the side wall. The mounting bracket includes a mounting hole and a retention stud rigidly affixed to the mounting bracket. The retention stud engages with a retaining mechanism of the second processing system to couple the second processing system to the first processing system. The spring is attached between the mounting stud and the mounting hole.

A handle assembly may include a base, a handle rotably coupled to the base via a hinge, the handle comprising a lock integral to the handle and mechanically coupled to a remainder of the handle via a spring having a spring force that biases the lock in a locked position relative to the handle. The base may include a mechanical retention feature for receiving and mechanically retaining an information handling resource. The base may also include one or more features configured to, as the handle is translated into a closed position relative to the base, mechanically engage with the lock to overcome the spring force that biases the lock in a locked position and allows the lock to return to the locked position in order to maintain the handle in the closed position.

A fan carrier includes a fan mounting section, a connector mounting section, and a connecting section. The fan mounting section is placed in physical communication with a fan of an information handling system. The fan mounting section has both structural rigidity and vibration rigidity. The connector mounting section is placed in physical communication with a fan-side connector of the information handling system. The connector mounting section has structural rigidity to properly align the fan-side connector with a motherboard-side connector of the information handling system. The connecting section is in physical communication with and located in between the fan mounting section and the connector mounting section. The connecting section has structural rigidity and vibration flexibility, and the vibration flexibility reduces vibrations from the fan before the vibrations are transmitted to the fan-side connector.

A fan carrier is to be placed in physical communication with a fan-side connector of an information handling system. The fan carrier includes a plunger assembly and multiple isolators. The plunger assembly is biased toward an at-rest position. The plunger assembly is in physical communication with the fan-side connector when the plunger assembly is in a deformed position. The isolators are mounted on the fan carrier, and dampen vibration energy in the fan carrier and prevent the vibration energy from being transferred to the fan-side connector. The isolators enable the fan-side connector to float within the fan carrier.

A mechanism for servicing a sled installed in a server includes a grip bar, and a four-bar linkage connected to the grip bar. The four-bar linkage has a first position that engages the sled to a chassis of the server, and a second position that disengages the sled from the chassis of the server. Movement of the grip bar moves the four-bar linkage from the first position to the second position, thus disengaging the sled from the chassis and allowing the sled to be removed from the chassis for service.

Assist mechanism for information handling system

An apparatus may include an actuator, a heat-rejecting medium, and a receptacle for receiving a pluggable module. The pluggable module may be operable to be inserted into the receptacle in a first direction. The actuator may be operable to be translated in the first direction by the insertion of the pluggable module into the receptacle. The heat-rejecting medium may be operable to be translated in a second, different direction by the actuator when the actuator is translated in the first direction. The translation of the heat-rejecting medium in the second direction may be operable to cause the heat-rejecting medium to become thermally coupled to the pluggable module when the pluggable module is inserted into the receptacle.

A structural subassembly for use in an information handling system chassis may include a first portion, a second portion, a common wall, and one or more mechanical features. The first portion may be configured to receive one or more of a first type of information handling resource. The second portion may be configured to receive one or more of a second type of information handling resource. The common wall may divide the first portion from the second portion. The one or more mechanical features may be configured to engage with one or more respective mechanical features of the information handling system chassis in order to perform at least one of guiding of the subassembly relative to the information handling system chassis during insertion or removal of the subassembly into or from the information handling system chassis and retention of the subassembly relative to the information handling system chassis.

Structural subassembly for use in an information handling system chassis

A motherboard is secured in a chassis by a spring loaded plunger. An anchor member is mounted in the chassis. The anchor member includes a ramp and a receiver. The motherboard has an opening formed therein. A first member is secured to the motherboard. A second member is resiliently mounted on the first member so that the second member extends through the opening. The motherboard is moved on the chassis so that the second member is moved in a first direction by engaging the ramp, and the resilient mounting of the second member urges the second member in a second direction into the receiver.
