An example plate assembly includes a support frame to be coupled to a body of the noise attenuator. The support frame has a plurality of radially extending ribs. The plate assembly also includes a disc-shaped plate having a plurality of openings forming flow paths to attenuate noise. The disc-shaped plate is coupled to the support frame such that pressure-induced loads on the disc-shaped plate are distributed to the plurality of radially extending ribs of the support frame.

Plates and plate assemblies for noise attenuators and other devices and methods of making the same are described herein. An example disc-shaped plate described herein includes a plurality of sector-shaped plates that have openings defining flow paths. Each of the plurality of sector-shaped plates has a first radial edge forming a first mating feature and a second radial edge forming a second mating feature that is complementary to the first mating feature such that, when the plurality of sector-shaped plates are arranged together, the first mating feature of each of the plurality of sector-shaped plates mates with the second mating feature of an adjacent one of the plurality of sector-shaped plates.

A valve including a control assembly that is configured to control fluid flow through the valve, The control assembly includes a driving element and a valve member. The driving element is rotatable about an axis between a first operating state in which the driving element maintains contact between the valve member and a valve seat and a second operating state in which the driving element does not maintain contact between the valve member and the valve seat. The valve member is rotatable about the axis independent of the driving element when the driving element is in the second operating state.

Low flow-restriction shut-off valve with excess flow closure functionality

A mechanical transmission system is provided for a barrier operator system for positioning a garage door between open and closed positions. The transmission system includes a rail having a channel to receive a drive sprocket and a return pulley. A drive element is trained around the drive sprocket and return pulley. The system further includes a tensioning system disposed within the channel and includes a return pulley support member and a bracket disposed on an end of the rail for supporting the return pulley support member. In addition, an adjusting screw is interfaced with and extends between the return pulley support member and the bracket, the adjusting screw movable to adjust the position of the return pulley support member relative to the bracket to increase or decrease the tension of the drive element.

Barrier operator mechanical transmission assembly

An actuator assembly for use with a shut-off valve in a transport or storage system. The assembly is configured to be operatively coupled to a stem of the valve for controlling fluid flow therethrough. The assembly includes a mounting bracket coupled to the bonnet, a mounting sleeve coupled to the stem and movable relative to the mounting bracket, and an actuator having a body and an inlet formed in the body. The body is defined by a first body portion coupled to the mounting bracket and a second body portion coupled to the mounting sleeve and movable relative to the first body portion to expand or contract the body. The inlet is adapted to receive pressurized fluid; the body expands or contracts responsive to the pressurized fluid, and responsive to the expansion or contraction of the body, the mounting sleeve moves relative to the mounting bracket, thereby moving the stem.

Actuator assembly for a low flow-restriction shut-off valve with excess flow closure functionality

A shut-off valve for use in a fluid transport or storage system includes a body defining an inlet port, an outlet port, and a fluid flow passageway extending between the inlet port and the outlet port, a seat arranged in the body adjacent the outlet port, a shaft at least partially disposed in the body, and a control assembly disposed in the body and operatively coupled to the shaft. The control assembly is movable between a closed position, in which a portion of the control assembly sealingly engages the seat to seal the outlet port, and an open position, in which the control assembly is spaced away from the outlet port and substantially outside of the fluid flow passageway, such that the control assembly provides minimal flow-restriction to fluid flowing through the fluid flow passageway.

An in-line serviceable cutoff valve with excess flow capability includes a valve body and a separable cover. Internal valve components are accessible for service or replacement when the separable cover is removed from the valve body. The internal valve components may optionally be attached to the separable cover so that the separable cover and the internal valve components may be removed as a single assembly.

Noise attenuation apparatus for fluid devices are disclosed herein. A noise attenuation apparatus includes a first plate having a plurality of first openings to reduce noise generated by a fluid flowing through a fluid device and a second plate having a plurality of second openings to reduce noise generated by the fluid. The second plate directly engages the first plate, and the first openings to at least partially align with the second openings when the first plate is in direct engagement with the second plate to define a flow passageway of the noise attenuation apparatus.

A pilot operated pressure relief valve includes a valve body having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet connected by a fluid passageway. A valve plug may be disposed within the fluid passageway, the valve plug cooperating with a valve seat to control fluid flow through the fluid passageway. An actuator may be connected to the valve plug, the regulator biasing the valve plug towards the valve seat. A pilot assembly may include a first pilot valve and a second pilot valve, wherein the pilot assembly directs fluid pressure upstream of the valve plug to one of the first and second pilot valves. When the upstream fluid pressure exceeds a predetermined level, the valve plug moves away from the valve seat allowing fluid to flow through the fluid passageway.

A torsion coil spring type counterbalance system for an upward acting door includes one or more sleeves disposed over or within the spring coils and engageable with a pre-determined number of spring coils during operation of the spring to modify the spring rate to more closely approximate the required counterbalance forces exertable on the door when the door moves between open and closed positions. The counterbalance system is particularly advantageous for upward acting sectional doors which have one or more sections which are heavier than the other sections, including an uppermost section which may be heavier due to the provision of windows or other structural features of the section.

An electrical motor rotatably drives a motor shaft, and a helical rib radially extends from the shaft. The helical rib supports a number of balls, and forms a channel to accommodate the balls. The balls are dropped from the helical rib when the balls reach the bottom of the helical rib. Several targets are affixed to the shaft. A sensor is located adjacent to and apart from the shaft, and is positioned in close proximity to the targets. The sensor senses each target as each target rotates past the sensor. The number of targets sensed per revolution of the shaft is equal to the number of balls dropped from the helical rib per revolution of the helical rib. A counter in data communication with the sensor displays the number of targets sensed, and thus displays the number or balls dropped from the helical rib.

A union for connecting two tubular members. The first tubular member has an external flange, and the second tubular member has a set of external threads. An annular nut surrounds the first tubular member. The nut has an internal flange that surrounds the first tubular member, and a set of threads to engage the threads of the second tubular member. Arcuate segments are circumferentially mated between the internal flange of the nut and the external flange of the first tubular member. A flat conical surface on the inner side of the segment comes into contact with a flat conical surface on the outer side of the external flange. Curved conical surfaces tangentially align with and extend from the flat conical surfaces on the segment and the external flange. Cylindrical surfaces tangentially align and join the curved conical surfaces on the segment and the tubular member.
