A method for making a composite and/or structured material includes: forming a lattice construction from a plurality of solid particles, the construction being formed so as to have one or more gaps between the particles; invading the lattice construction with a fluid material such that the fluid material at least partially penetrates the gaps; and, solidifying the material which invaded the lattice construction to form a composite material. In one suitable embodiment, the method further includes removing at least a portion of the lattice construction from the composite material thereby forming at the location of the removed portion one or more pores in the solidified material that invaded the construction.

Porous material and method for producing the same

An inerted plate dryer for drying solvent based coating is disclosed. The dryer uses two tiers of substantially parallel heating plates that are located not more than 10 cm apart. A moving web with solvent based coating is passed through the dryer, and runs closer to one of the heating plates. The method of using such inerted plate dryer is also disclosed.

Material and method for producing the same

Methods and/or systems for printing or otherwise evincing temporary indicia on media with disappearing inks are described along with suitable disappearing ink formulations and media constructions for executing the same. In particular embodiments, the methods and/or systems described employ a plurality of disappearing inks with different disappearing rates. In one embodiment, a barrier layer that is selectively used to cover a major surface of the media is employed to substantially block or otherwise regulate a rate of phase transitions (e.g., evaporation and/or sublimation) experienced by ink borne by the media.
