The present disclosure provides modular magnetic anastomosis devices that can be implemented in digestive surgery or in any circumstance of anastomosis between adjacent organs or two hollow viscera. The device is minimally invasive and easily and quickly delivered using laparoscopic or endoscopic procedures.

Modular magnetic devices for use in creating tissue anastomosis

The present disclosure provides description of applicators to implement modular magnetic anastomosis device. In one embodiment the delivery device is a laparoscopic instrument for MISS surgery, in another embodiment the delivery device is endoscopy or colonoscopy instrument for NOTES surgery.

Applicators for modular magnetic anastomosis device

The disclosure relates to a surgical staple defining a median folding zone which is continued by a pair of branches, each branch having a pointed fastening end and an intermediate clamping zone situated between the median folding zone and the pointed fastening end. The staple is deformable so that each branch can be folded relative to the median folding zone by causing each fastening end to approach the other branch, the staple being formed by a metal cutout pre-shaped by folding, and is of constant thickness. Intermediate clamping zones of the two branches are cut out such as to form at least two teeth, the edges of which form two complementary clamping surfaces, parallel to the median plane when the staple is folded. The cross-section of clamping surfaces correspond to the cross-section of the metal cutout.

An endoscopic needle holder for handling curved needles includes an articulated assembly including a first gripping jaw forming one piece with a duct and a second gripping jaw actuated by the movable core in transverse displacement; the jaws are made of coaxial cylindrical parts with the mobile core; the first jaw has a plurality of longitudinally extending peripheral teeth; the second jaw consists of a cylindrical part with a plurality of peripheral teeth; and the second jaw is movable with respect to the first jaw by a longitudinal linear displacement between a rest position, where the jaws are spaced to delimit, between the ends of the teeth, an interval at least equal to the section of a needle and a close position where they keep the needle curved.

Endoscopic needle carrier

The balloon includes a pouch formed of a sealed wall delimiting an internal space, and a valve for filling the internal space with a fluid, capable of being occluded after filling the internal space. The pouch delimits a fluid-draining orifice opening into the internal space. The balloon further includes an occluding ball that occludes the draining orifice. The occluding ball can be spherical or polyhedral, and be capable of releasing the draining orifice under the effect of a magnetic field, so as to enable the at least partial drainage of the fluid contained in the internal space. The occluding ball is movable along at least two distinct axes in relation to the pouch.
