An apparatus and method for decoding of encoded signals representing at least image information from a storage medium is claimed. A storage device is configured to receive the storage medium. A decoder is configured receive the compressed encrypted encoded signals from the storage medium, and send the signals to a decryptor. The decryptor is configured to decrypt the compressed encrypted encoded signals, and send the signals to a decompressor. The decompressor is configured to receive the compressed encoded signals from the decryptor and to decompress the compressed encoded signals to enable display of the image.

Apparatus and method for decoding digital image and audio signals

The specification and drawing figures describe and illustrate a system for sensing cargo loads and trailer movement that includes a mobile wireless communications system. A mobile computing platform is mounted on a remote vehicle and operatively connectable across the mobile wireless communications system. Sensor data are collected and stored in the mobile wireless communications system and the mobile computing platform, and may be transmitted across the mobile wireless communications system. At least one program is stored either in the mobile wireless communications system or the mobile computing platform, or both, for using the sensor data to determine equipment use, placement, and positioning in relation to a vehicle and sending one or more sensitivity reports to the asset manager.

The specification and drawing figures describe and show a method and system of monitoring CANbus information across an integrated wireless equipment management system and a mobile wireless communications system. The CANbus, mounted in a vehicle, provides communication and diagnostic information among vehicle components that, because the CANbus also is operatively connectable to the integrated wireless equipment management system, may be transmitted across that system. The CANbus includes one or more original parameters associated with sensors that are converted into virtual sensors to provide selective vehicle information to a terminal of the integrated wireless equipment management system.

Method of monitoring CANbus information

A loopback processing method includes detecting a loopback at a first entity in a wide area network. The detection is accomplished by recognizing that a 'memorized' frame has returned on the same communications interface within a given period of time. The time interval between sending the frame and detecting it returning at the same port may be recorded and sent to an operator to provide information on the relative location of the loopback in the network. A loopback detect sequence is sent from the first entity to a second entity on the communications interface in loopback. Because of the loopback, both entities receive the loopback detect sequence.

A source generator is configured to convert the signals into digitized image information. A compressor is configured to receive the digitized image information from the source generator and compress the digitized image. An encryptor is configured to receive the compressed digitized image information from the compressor and encrypt the compressed digitized image information. A storage device is configured to then store the encrypted compressed digitized image information onto the storage medium.

When the first entity stops detecting the loopback detect sequence returning on the link, the first entity stops sending the loopback detect sequence and begins using the link for real data again. When the second entity stops receiving the loopback detect sequence on the link, the second entity begins using the link for real data again. Either or both entities may inform a network operator that the loopback is gone.

In a digital cinema system comprising a decoder and an auditorium manager, where the auditorium manager configured to sequence the presentation of scheduled programs, a method of cueing a theatre automation system is claimed. A cue command is received from the decoder. The cue command is configured to a format acceptable by the theatre automation system. The cue command is then relayed to the theatre automation system.

Apparatus and method for cueing a theatre automation system

A system and method for transparently providing access to a wireless communication service to a group of subscribers who share a set of modems, where each subscriber in the group is provided with a subscriber unit and each subscriber in the group is associated with static and dynamic authentication information. According to one embodiment, the system includes a transceiver system for transmitting radio wave frequency signals to and receiving radio wave frequency signals from a base station; a set of modems, wherein each modem in the set is coupled to the transceiver system; a set of subscriber units, wherein each subscriber unit is associated with authentication information; a switch coupled to each of the modems and coupled to each of the subscriber units; a control system in communication with the switch and each of the modems; and a database for storing the authentication information, wherein the database is accessible to the control system. The control system determines an available modem from the set of modems when one of the subscriber units is activated. Further, the control system directs the switch to connect the activated subscriber unit with the available modem, retrieves from the database authentication information associated with the activated subscriber unit, and provides the available modem with the retrieved authentication information. In this manner, the authentication information associated with the activated subscriber unit is provided to the modem that is handling the call. Consequently, the modem handling the call can transparently authenticate the subscriber unit in the same manner as in a conventional wireless communication service.

System and method for providing access to a wireless communication service to a group of subscribers who share a set of modems

A method and apparatus for distributing and consolidating data packets onto multiple network interfaces includes using frame-based inverse multiplexing to parse high-speed data into frames for placement onto lower-speed E1 or T1 connections between a base station controller and a base station, or between two base station controllers, in a cellular telephony network. The inverse multiplexing algorithm may be implemented with hardware such as, e.g., FIFOs and registers. The frames are transmitted across the E1 or T1 connections and then received, buffered, and multiplexed into a single high-speed data stream.

Method and apparatus for distributing and consolidating data packets

A novel and improved method and apparatus for providing an interface to a digital wireless telephone system compatible with standard analog wire line telephones, analog wire line fax machines, and computer modems is described. At the start of a telephone call, a data pump interprets the digits dialed, and if a first set of digits are received a control system configures the data pump for processing analog fax data. If a second set of digits are received, the control system configures the data pump for processing analog computer modem data. If a telephone number is received, the control system configures the interface system to pass additional data to a vocoder which encodes any digitized audio information received.

Digital wireless telephone system interface for analog

A cellular telephone concentrated subscriber system is described. The concentrated subscriber system includes a set of subscriber units coupled to a concentrated subscriber system controller. The concentrated subscriber system controller that provides a radio frequency (RF) interface to the standard base station transceiver of a cellular telephone system. Each subscriber unit has a unique electronic serial number. The concentrated subscriber system controller includes a set of modulator-demodulator systems (modems) and a RF transceiver and antenna system that is configured to transmit sufficient information to conduct multiple telephone calls over both long and short distances. The concentrated subscriber system controller also includes control circuitry for coupling the set of subscriber unit to the set of modems via a multiplexed system using stored information. In the preferred embodiment the number of modems is significantly less the number of subscriber units which are implemented in a simplified manner so that the per user cost of cellular telephone service is reduced.
