A gas valve () control system () uses a control signal () to enable a valve () and a validation signal () to validate the control signal (). The system () includes a valve () connected to a burner (). A receiver () is electrically connected to the valve () and provides the valve () with the control signal (). A controller () has a control transmitter () in wireless communication with the receiver () to transmit the control signal () to the receiver () at a speed of light. The controller () further includes a validation transmitter () to transmit a validation signal () to the receiver () at a speed of sound. The valve () is enabled by the control signal () if a time delay between the receiver () receiving the control signal () and the validation signal () is shorter than a maximum delay period. The control signal () is discarded if the time delay is longer than the maximum delay period.

Remote control for gas valve

A radiation image inspection apparatus for inspecting articles. The inspection apparatus includes a radiation source which generates and directs radiation, preferably x-rays, toward and around the article. The radiation penetrates and passes around the article and strikes a screen having a coating formed of a rare earth element. The coating exhibits fluorescence when struck by incident radiation and becomes illuminated, generating a first light image of the article. The first light image passes through a plurality of lenses which maintain the intensity of the light image before striking a camera having a front camera screen. The camera by means of an internal sweep beam scans the camera screen and generates an electrical output signal corresponding to the image on the camera screen. A controller controls the operation of the camera and radiation source in either of two modes. In the first mode of operation the radiation source is energized to continually generate radiation and the camera output is blanked for a pre-determined amount of time after the inspection sequence begins to enable radiation energy to build up on the screen thereby maximizing the intensity of the visible light image generated on the screen. At the end of the pre-determined time interval, the camera is activated to generate a signal corresponding to the image on the camera screen. In the second mode of energization, the radiation source and the camera are pulsed for a short time period, with the radiation source being energized at a high intensity level.

Radiation image inspection apparatus

A thermal saddle for a camera tube deflection yoke which dissipates heat from the camera tube and deflection yoke to enable the use of maximum operating voltages on the camera tube for enhanced resolution. The thermal saddle includes a base formed of a high heat dissipation material having spaced, planar flanges mounted within the camera housing. A concave, central portion is formed between the flanges and is sized to securely receive and support the deflection yoke and to dissipate heat therefrom. A strap surrounds the delection yoke and is secured to the base to securely mount the deflection yoke on the base.

A clock signal synchronization apparatus for decoding self-clocking encoded data generates data signals identical in frequency with the encoded data but progressively offset in time with respect to the encoded data signal. The delayed data signals are responsive to the clock rate of a clock signal generating means so as to be advanced or delayed in time with respect to the encoded data when the clock signal generating means is not synchronized with the encoded self-clocking data. The instantaneous binary states of the encoded data and the delayed data signals are sampled in parallel to detect one of a predetermined number of distinct trigger codes. The signals are continuously sampled to detect a correct following code after the detected trigger code to indicate that the clock signal is synchronized with the encoded, self-clocking data. Error codes will be detected prior to the correct following code for each distinct trigger code when the clock signal is delayed or advanced with respect to the encoded data. The amount of time that an error code is present is used to vary the clock rate of the clock signal generating means to bring it into synchronization with the encoded self-clocking data.
