The present disclosure relates to a curable composition comprising: (A) a polyolefin; (B) a fumed alumina; (C) a silane compound; (D) a UV stabilizer; and, optionally, (E) a crosslinking agent, where the curable composition demonstrates improved electrical properties. The present disclosure further relates to a crosslinked polymer composition that is the reaction product of the curable composition, where improved electrical properties are demonstrated as well.

The invention provides a composition comprising a first composition, comprising a first ethylene/alpha-olefin/non-conjugated polyene and a second ethylene ethylene/alpha-olefin/non-conjugated polyene, and wherein the first composition comprises the following property: Mw>1389.6 [g/mole] MV+115,000 g/mole, wherein MV is the Mooney Viscosity (ML 1+4, 125 C), and Mw N is the weight average molecular weight, as determined by conventional GPC.

Ethylene/alpha-olefin/polyene based compositions

A composition comprising at least the following components: A) an ethylene-based polymer; B) a cycloolefin inter-polymer comprising, in polymerized form, ethylene and at least one bridged cyclic olefin selected from Structures a-d, as described herein, or any combination of Structures a-d; and wherein component A is present in an amount ≥50 wt %, based on the weight of the composition, and wherein component B is present in an amount from 5 to 12 wt %, based on the sum weight of components A and B.

The present disclosure provides a composition. The composition can be formed into a foam composition. In an embodiment, the composition includes a neat ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated polyene interpolymer. The neat ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated polyene interpolymer includes from greater than 6.0 wt % to 15.0 wt % nonconjugated polyene. The neat ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated polyene interpolymer has the following properties: (i) a molecular weight (Mw) from 240,000 to 270,000; (ii) a Mooney viscosity (ML (1+4), 125° C.) from 85 to 95; (iii) a rheology ratio (RR) from 35 to 65; (iv) a Mw/Mn from 2.2 to 3.5; and (v) Mw<1389.6 [g/mole] MV+140,000 g/mol wherein Mw is the weight average molecular weight and MV is the Mooney Viscosity (ML 1+4, 125° C.). MV is the Mooney Viscosity (ML 1+4, 125° C.), and Mw is the weight average molecular weight, as determined by conventional GPC.

Ethylene/alpha-olefin/polyene interpolymers and compositions containing the same

The present disclosure provides a film. In an embodiment, a multilayer film having at least three layers is provided. The multilayer film includes two skin layers, each skin layer composed of a blend of a low density polyethylene and an ethylene-based elastomer having a density less than 0.90 g/cc. The multilayer film also includes a core layer located between the skin layers. The core layer includes a propylene-based plastomer having a density less than 0.90 g/cc. The multilayer film has an onset end temperature from 90&#xb0; C. to 110&#xb0; C. and a heat seal strength at 120&#xb0; C. from 1.5 N/cm to 2.5 N/cm.

Crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising: (a) a polymer blend comprising: (1) 10 to 94 weight percent, based on the total weight of the crosslinkable polymeric composition, of an ethylene-based interpolymer having the following properties: (i) a density of 0.93 g/cmor less, (ii) a melt index (I) at 190&#xb0; C. of greater than 0.2 g/10 minutes, and (iii) a shear thinning ratio (V0.1/V100) at 190&#xb0; C. and 10% strain of less than 8; and (2) 5 to 90 weight percent, based on the total weight of the crosslinkable polymeric composition, of a high-pressure polyethylene; and (b) 0 to less than 40 weight percent, based on the total weight of the crosslinkable polymeric composition, of a filler, where the ethylene-based interpolymer of component (a) is not prepared in a high-pressure reactor or process. Additionally, the polymer blend has the following properties: (i) a shear thinning ratio (V0.1/V100) at 190&#xb0; C. and 10% strain of at least 5, (ii) a high-shear viscosity (V100) at 190 C and 10% strain of less than 1,300 Pa&#xb7;s, (iii) a melt strength of at least 4 centiNewtons at 190&#xb0; C., and (iv) a flexural modulus, 2% secant, of less than 25,000 psi. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions may be employed as insulation layers in flexible power cables.
