The present disclosure relates to toner compositions containing a high loading of white colorant of greater than 30 weight % by weight of the toner and processes thereof. The toner exhibits a lightness (L*) of at least 75.

Toner compositions with white colorants and processes of making thereof

Methods of forming a toner are provided. In embodiments, such a method comprises forming a toner from a mixture of at least one resin, at least one wax, and optionally, at least one colorant, wherein the at least one wax is of a type and is present at an amount which are selected to provide a predetermined PERvalue for the toner; and measuring a PERvalue for the toner, wherein the measured PERvalue for the toner is equal to or less than the predetermined PERvalue. Toners formed using the methods are also provided.

A release agent material including a blend of a nonfunctional siloxane release agent fluid and at least two different organo-functional siloxane release agent materials having amino-functional groups or alkyl functional groups, useful in machines having gamut extension capability.

A charge control agent-silicone oil composition includes a silicone oil and a charge control agent, the charge control agent being covalently linked to the silicone oil or is homogenously dispersed in the silicone oil as a dispersion. A method includes reacting an electrophilically-activated silicone oil with a charge control agent, thereby covalently linking the charge control agent to the silicone oil to provide a charge control agent-functionalized silicone oil. A bio-based toner includes a resin blend that includes a petroleum based resin and a bio-based resin, a charge control agent-silicone oil, a colorant, and a silica and/or titania additive, the toner having a bio-content of greater than about 25% by weight and does not exhibit moisture sensitivity.

Charge control agent-silicone oils and uses thereof

A continuous flow process for producing coalesced toner particles from aggregated toner particles includes continuously flowing a slurry of aggregated toner particles having a size of from about 5 microns to about 7 microns through one or more heat exchangers, wherein a residence time in the one or more heat exchangers is from about 1 second to about 15 minutes, thereby producing coalesced toner particles having a circularity of from about 0.930 to about 0.990. The aggregated toner particles comprise a polymer resin, a colorant, an aggregating agent, and an optional wax.

Emulsion aggregation toners

An apparatus and method of manufacturing a white dry ink pulverized toner including a resin and 15%-45% TiO2 pigment having a mean size of 100-350 nm melt mixed with the resin in a twin screw extruder resulting in an extruded mix. The extruded mix is pulverized in a fluid bed jet mill. Fines of the pulverized extruded mix less than 5 microns may be removed from the pulverized extruded mix by classification leaving pulverized particles having a mean size of 6-12 microns. The pulverized particles are blended in a mixer with surface additives including silica and ZnSt, and the white dry ink pulverized toner has a developer charge between 5 and 50 &#x3bc;C/gram and a Lightness (L*) of at least 75 at a toner mass per unit area (TMA) of at most 1.2 mg/cm.

Emulsion aggregation toners with improved particle size distribution

A method of making a toner composition includes preparing raw toner particles, increasing a surface area of the raw toner particles by contacting the raw toner particles with a base to produce base-treated raw toner particles, and mixing the base-treated raw toner particles with at least one surface additive such that the at least one surface additive attaches to a surface of the base-treated raw toner particles to obtain blended toner particles. A toner composition includes blended toner particles containing base-treated raw toner particles, and at least one surface additive attached to a surface of the base-treated raw toner particles, wherein a ratio of a triboelectric charge of the blended toner composition to a triboelectric charge of the base-treated raw toner particles is from about 0.8 to about 1.2.
