A delivery member is provided for delivering and deploying an intravascular medical device. The delivery member includes a flexible distal portion including a wound wire coil surrounded by a flexible sleeve and inhibited from extending lengthwise by a stretch resistant member positioned through a lumen of the coil. The delivery member can include hypotubes positioned on either side (distally and proximally) from the wound wire coil to which the stretch resistant member and the wound wire coil can be attached. The flexible sleeve can be fused to the stretch resistant member between windings of the wire coil.

Medical device delivery member with flexible stretch resistant distal portion

A delivery member is provided for delivering and deploying an intravascular medical device. The delivery member includes a flexible distal portion including a wound wire coil surrounded by a flexible sleeve and inhibited from extending lengthwise by a stretch resistant member positioned through a lumen of the coil. The delivery member can include hypotubes positioned on either side (distally and proximally) from the wound wire coil to which the stretch resistant member and the wound wire coil can be attached.

A delivery system for delivering and deploying an implantable medical device is presented that includes a delivery member having a flexible distal portion. The deliver member can include a proximal hypotube, a flexible coil extending distally from the proximal hypotube, a compressible distal hypotube extending distally from the flexible coil, a sleeve extending along the flexible coil, and a loop wire. The loop wire can be effective to inhibit longitudinal elongation of the flexible coil. The sleeve can be effective to inhibit radial expansion of the flexible coil.

Medical device delivery member with flexible stretch resistant mechanical release

An assembly at a proximal end of an intravascular delivery system can allow the proximal end of a pull wire to move independently of a delivery tube. The assembly can generally include the pull wire, the delivery tube, a feature to prevent the proximal end of the pull wire from becoming inaccessible due to distal movement of the pull wire, and a feature to protect the proximal end of the pull wire from inadvertent, premature manipulation. When the intravascular delivery system is navigating tortuous vasculature, the proximal end of the pull wire can move distally in relation to the proximal end of delivery tube, relieving stress on the distal end of the pull wire. The proximal end of the pull wire can be protected from inadvertent manipulation during delivery and made available for manipulation once the distal end of the delivery system is in place.

Pull wire detachment for intravascular devices

An embolic coil implant having a stretch resistant fiber therethrough and dual-functional engagement feature at its proximal end is provided. The stretch resistant fiber can be effective to limiting separation of windings of the embolic coil. The engagement feature can provide an attachment for securing the embolic coil to an engagement system of a delivery tube and for securing the stretch resistant fiber at the proximal end of the embolic coil. The engagement feature can have two engagement surfaces affixed to a proximal end of the embolic coil that are longitudinally offset from each other by a distance that is about half of a diameter of a wire of the embolic coil.

An intravascular treatment device is presented having an expandable frame made up of circular struts, straight struts, and bent struts forming a frame with circumference that varies over the length of the frame. Radiopaque markers can be positioned on the bent struts to indicate outer circumferences of the frame along the length of the frame. The device can be a stent or a clot retriever. If the device is a clot retriever, the proximal end of the expandable frame can be attached to a guide wire and the distal end of the expandable frame can be free to slide over the guide wire when the frame moves from a collapsed state to an expanded state and vice versa.

An embolic coil implant having a stretch resistant fiber therethrough and dual-functional engagement feature at its proximal end is provided. The stretch resistant fiber can be effective to limiting separation of windings of the embolic coil. The engagement feature can provide an attachment for securing the embolic coil to an engagement system of a delivery tube and for securing the stretch resistant fiber at the proximal end of the embolic coil.

A system to assist delivery of a mechanical intravascular treatment device, wherein the system includes a first assist device having a first linear sliding mechanism. The linear sliding mechanism includes: a first non-slidable section; a first slidable section linearly displaceable relative to the first non-slidable section; and a first tension device connected to the first slidable section to move together; the first tension device being transitionable between an unsecured state and a secured state. A first securing hub is fixedly attached to the first non-slidable section, wherein the first securing hub is transitionable between an unsecured state and a secured state. The system may also include a second assist device. The assist devices provide enhanced control of movement of the delivery wire and/or guide catheter.

System to assist delivery of a mechanical intravascular treatment device

An aneurysm implant support device for treating an aneurysm at a bifurcation can include a body having a tubular lattice extending from an upper body section, through a mid body section, and to a lower body section. The upper body section can be sized, shaped, and otherwise configured for implantation in an aneurysm sac. The upper body section can include support elements positioned at the aneurysm neck which inhibit the embolic implants from exiting the aneurysm. The mid body section can have two large cell openings substantially larger than the cell openings over a majority of the tubular lattice. The two large cell openings can be placed across passageways from a stem blood vessel to branch blood vessels of the bifurcation. The lower body section can be sized, shaped, and otherwise configured to anchor within the stem blood vessel.

Aneurysm implant support device

The steerable catheter invention facilitates the tracking and selection of branch vessels, as well as provide the means for stiffening the catheter body across the tortuosity to anchor the catheter and minimize the potential for the catheter backing out of position while delivering interventional devices to the distal anatomy.

Steerable locking catheter

An aneurysm intrasaccular implant is provided having one or more coated regions. The implant includes a braided mesh movable from a delivery configuration having a single-layer tubular shape sized to traverse a catheter to an implanted configuration sized to be implanted in an aneurysm sac. The braided mesh can include an anti-thrombogenic coating defining a first section along the length of the braided mesh. The braided mesh can include a cell adhesion coating defining a second section along the length of the braided mesh. In the delivery confirmation, the first section can be positioned distal to the second section within the catheter. The second section is invertible to the implanted configuration such that the second section is positioned within the aneurysm sac and the first section is positioned to occlude an aneurysm neck.

Intrasaccular aneurysm treatment device with varying coatings

A vascular flow diverter includes a tubular mesh framework which includes a mesh cover and an opening. The tubular mesh framework is collapsible and configured to expand from a collapsed shape to a tubular shape when the vascular flow diverter is deployed. The mesh cover conforms to the shape of the tubular mesh, is surrounded by the tubular mesh framework, and is less porous than the tubular mesh framework. The opening is located within the mesh cover. A delivery wire passes through the opening in order to guide the flow diverter into place over an aneurysm.

Composite vascular flow diverter

An embolic implantation system configured to deliver an embolic implant intravascularly to a treatment site includes an elongated delivery tube to which the embolic implant is detachably attached by a flexible loop extending through a retaining ring or opening on the embolic implant and an elongated detachment member or pull wire extending through the delivery tube and flexible loop. The pull wire has a bump near its distal end that inhibits the pull wire from moving further distally when the bump presses distally against the flexible loop and/or retaining ring. The flexible loop and retaining ring thereby serve as a distal obstruction obstructing distal movement of the bump and thereby distal movement of the pull wire into the implant.

Embolic coil delivery system with retractable mechanical release mechanism

An endovascular surgical tool may include a flexible, electrically-conductive delivery tube, a return conductor, a resistive heating element attached to the distal end of the delivery tube, and a therapeutic payload attached to a loop of the resistive heating element by a coil connecting member. The delivery tube may include at least one segment at its distal end which includes a plurality of transverse slots. Each slot of the plurality of slots includes an origin on the perimeter of the delivery tube, a terminus closer to a central axis of the delivery tube than the origin, and a depth between the origin and terminus. The origins of at least two slots of the plurality of slots may be located at different angular positions relative to the central axis. The return conductor may be electrically insulated from and positioned within the delivery tube.

Endovascular detachment system with flexible distal end and heater activated detachment

A method of constructing a detachment system for delivering an implantable medical device to a target location of a body vessel is presented. The method includes forming a compressible portion on a distal tube, engaging an implantable medical device with an engagement system, extending the engagement system through the distal tube such that the implantable medical device is distal of a distal end of the distal tube, applying a force to the engagement system to compress the compressible portion to a compressed state, fixing the engagement system to the distal tube to maintain the compressed state of the compressible portion, and joining a proximal end of the distal tube to a distal end of a proximal tube. The engagement system can include a loop wire that is fixed to the distal tube and engages the medical device.
