A linear motor system may include a plurality of track sections that may enable a mover to traverse a track formed by the plurality of track sections. The system may also include a plurality of connection modules, such that each connection module of the plurality of connection modules may physically couple two respective adjacent track sections of the plurality of track sections and communicatively couple the two respective adjacent track sections of the plurality of track section. Each connection module may also electrically couple the two respective adjacent track sections of the plurality of track section.

Track connection module for linear motor tracks

An electronics housing assembly includes a first housing portion and a second housing portion removably connected to the first housing portion to define an interior space that contains electronics components. A first group of the electronics components is connected to the first housing portion and a second group of the electronics components is connected to the second housing portion. A connector alignment and retention panel is connected to the first housing portion. The connector alignment and retention panel includes a connector support platform with a first connector mounting location. A first electrical connector that is part of the first group of the electronics components is operatively engaged with the first connector mounting location of the panel such that the first electrical connector is mounted on the panel and located in a select position relative to the first housing portion. A first corresponding electrical connector that is part of the second group of said electronics components is operatively secured to the second housing portion and is operatively engaged with the first electrical connector mounted on the panel.

The present invention provides a dual rail track system for independently moveable carts in an industrial control environment in which upper and lower rails of a track are substantially 'L' shaped to allow upper and lower groups of rollers of a cart to orthogonally contact the upper and lower rails, respectively, to provide vertical and horizontal control of the cart while in motion along the track. The shape of the rails and arrangement of the rollers, orthogonal with respect to the rails in vertical and horizontal planes, provides an efficient support system allowing high speed. movement of carts, including through turns, with only two rails and with symmetric weight distribution of the cart. Flexible members provided with respect to each roller also provide resiliency to allow the rollers to adapt to variations in the track.

Dual rail track system for industrial control

The present disclosure describes bearing assemblies for a mover of a linear motor system. The bearing assemblies may include a plurality of bearings, a housing that retains the bearings, a plurality of springs biasing at least one of the plurality of bearings towards a track of the linear motor system, and at least one dampening element dampening movement of one or more of the plurality of springs.

A system and method for adjusting the alignment and location of a magnet. A first actuator exerts a first applied force to urge the magnet in a first axial direction and a first biasing device exerts a first opposing force. The first applied force and opposing forces are modulated relative to each other to position the magnet at a lateral location. A second actuator exerts a second applied force to urge the magnet in a first angular direction about a pivot axis and a second biasing device exerts a second opposing force. The second applied and opposing forces are modulated relative to each other to position the magnet at a select angular orientation relative to the magnet holder. The magnet is secured to the magnet holder after positioning. The magnet can also be rotated about its geometric centerline to position its magnetic axis.

A mover system that provides spatially separated rails of the track interacting with pairs of closely spaced opposed wheels of the mover constraining movement of the mover on the track is provided. Each pair of wheels includes standard cylindrical or crowned wheels contacting the opposed parallel sides of standard rectangular rails, retaining the movers on the track in both horizontal and vertical directions normal to a transport direction along the track. The wheels bear loads in a radial direction with respect to axial motion consistent with its naturally positioned strength.

Multi-rail/roller compliance system for independent mover products

An electronics module includes a housing including a wall. A cable clamp chassis projects outwardly from the housing wall. The cable clamp chassis includes first and second cable receiving locations respectively adapted to receive associated first and second cables. A clamp is secured to the cable clamp chassis by a fastener. The clamp is adapted to secure first and second associated cables in the first and second cable receiving locations. The fastener comprises a two-piece structure including a bolt and a head non-rotatably engaged with the bolt. The housing wall is provided as part of a sheet metal wall structure and the cable clamp chassis is cast metal or another monolithic conductive structure. The two-piece fastener comprises a carbon steel or stainless steel bolt and a cast metal or molded polymeric head that is non-rotatably engaged with a bolt head of the bolt.

Cable clamping system for strain relief and grounding

An electronics module includes a cable clamp chassis projecting outward from a wall of the module. The cable clamp chassis includes first and second cable mounting locations adapted to receive respective first and second cables. The cable mounting locations each include an axially extending recess located adjacent a first reference plane. Each of the cable mounting locations includes an inner surface with an innermost point that lies tangent to a second reference plane that is parallel to and offset from the first reference plane such that the first and second cables are arranged in a zero stack configuration. A clamp is secured to the cable clamp chassis and adapted to secure the first and second associated cables in the first and second cable receiving locations.
