A scalable laser scanning angle apparatus and method of scaling a scanning angle using MEMS devices and elliptical mirrors includes disposing a first scanner at one focal point of an elliptical mirror and scanning the emitted light beam in a first direction at a first scanning angle toward a concave surface of the elliptical mirror such that the scanned light beam is directed toward the second focal point of the elliptical mirror, and scanning the light beam from the concave surface of the elliptical mirror in a second direction at a second scanning angle using a second scanner, wherein the second scanner outputs the light beam across a system scanning angle which corresponds to a combination of the first scanning angle and the second scanning angle. The scanning angle is scalable by repeatedly scanning the light beam at corresponding focal points of a predetermined number of elliptical mirrors, wherein the total scanning angle is scaled by a multiple of a number of times the light beam is scanned.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel including a liquid crystal panel, a first driving circuit, connected to the liquid crystal panel by a plurality of data lines, a second driving circuit, connected to the liquid crystal panel by a plurality of gate lines, an electrode pad unit applying a signal voltage aligning the liquid crystal filled in the liquid crystal panel, a first switching circuit, performing a switching operation to apply a part of the liquid crystal alignment signal voltage applied via the electrode pad unit to the liquid crystal panel via the data lines, a second switching circuit, performing a switching operation to apply a remaining part of the liquid crystal alignment signal voltage to the liquid crystal panel via the gate lines, and first and second buffer circuits, which prevent the liquid crystal alignment signal voltage from being applied backward to the first and second driving circuits.

A 2D/3D (two-dimensional/three-dimensional) display including: an image display panel; and a light source which selectively emits light for displaying two-dimensional image and light for displaying three-dimensional image on the image display panel. The image display panel can be a liquid crystal panel, and the light source can be a flat light source having an array of light emitting cells which are turned on and off depending on an applied voltage.

Display capable of selectively displaying two-dimensional and three-dimensional images

The system includes an illumination system, a scanner, a non-linear optical element, and a pumping light source. The illumination system emits imaging beam and the scanner scans the beam incident from the illumination system. The non-linear optical element is made of a material having a Kerr effect or the like and forms a lens automatically aligned while following a path of the imaging beam scanned from the scanner. The pumping light source actives the non-linear optical element to cause a non-linear refractive index change of the non-linear optical element.

An optical scanner and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The optical scanner comprises a rectangular frame, a H-shaped stage, which is linearly driven in a second direction perpendicular to a first direction of a central axis inside the frame and includes a central area positioned in a direction of the central axis and four extended areas that extend from both opposite sides of the central area parallel to the central axis, a cylindrical mirror, which is disposed on the central area and scans a laser beam incident on the surface thereof in the second direction, torsion bars, which are disposed on the central axis and support the stage by connecting the frame and the central area of the stage, and a stage driving structure, which includes driving comb electrodes formed at both long sides of the stage and fixed comb electrodes formed at corresponding sides of the frame, parallel to the first direction.

Optical scanner with curved mirror and method of manufacturing the same

An optical scanning frequency doubling method and apparatus adopting the same are provided. According to the method and apparatus, light scanned by a mirror to a predetermined region is fed back to the mirror. The fed back light is output through an output region. Thus, the frequency of a scanner is doubled, thus greatly overcoming difficulties in high-frequency scanning that current scanners employing a separate optical feedback structure have. That is, the apparatus and method optically double the frequency given by the physical structure of the scanner. The doubled frequency is very suitable for laser televisions, and in particular, for high resolution and high quality laser projection-type image display devices.
