An image sensor includes a pixel array in which a plurality of pixels, first and second row selection lines separated from each other, and first and second column lines separated from each other are disposed and a column selecting circuit configured to connect the first and second column lines using a column selection signal. The pixel array includes a first pixel which is connected to the first row selection line and the first column line and a second pixel which is disposed in the same row as the first pixel and connected to the second row selection line and the second column line.

Image sensor having multiple operation modes

A temperature sensor includes a band gap reference (BGR) circuit, a voltage generation unit and a digital CDS circuit. The band gap reference (BGR) circuit generates a reference voltage proportional to a temperature. The voltage generation unit generates a first voltage and a second voltage based on the reference voltage, where the first voltage and the second voltage are proportional to the temperature. The digital CDS circuit generates a digital signal corresponding to the temperature by performing a digital correlated double sampling (CDS) operation on the first voltage and the second voltage. The temperature sensor is able to detect a temperature accurately.

Temperature sensor and image sensor having the same

For driving an image sensor having a pixel with a transfer gate formed between a photo-detector and a floating diffusion region, a noise-reducing voltage is applied on the transfer gate during a first period of an integration mode. A blooming current voltage is applied on the transfer gate during a second period of the integration mode. A read voltage is applied on the transfer gate during a read mode after the integration mode. The read voltage has a higher magnitude than the blooming current voltage. With application of the noise-reducing voltage, noise is reduced and a dynamic range is extended for the image sensor.

A complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor and a method of driving the CMOS image sensor that can reduce the number of devices required by each of a plurality of pixels and can stably drive the pixels, in which each of the pixels includes a photodiode that converts light energy into an electrical signal, a transfer transistor that transmits photocarriers stored in the photodiode to a floating diffusing region, a drive transistor that has a gate connected to the floating diffusion region and drives a voltage signal according to a voltage of the floating diffusion region, the voltage signal being output to an external device, and a capacitive device that is connected between a control voltage source and the floating diffusion region and, when a sensing operation of a corresponding pixel is terminated, deselects the pixel by altering the voltage of the floating diffusion region according to a control voltage provided by the control voltage source.

CMOS image sensor and method of driving the same

A small-sized on-chip complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) Power Amplifier having improved efficiency is provided herein. The on-chip CMOS power amplifier is capable of improving efficiency and maximizing output thereof by enhancing a K factor, which may cause a problem in a power amplifier having a distributed active transformer structure. The on-chip CMOS power amplifier having an improved efficiency and being fabricated in a small size, the on-chip CMOS power amplifier includes a primary winding located at a first layer, secondary windings located at a second layer, which is an upper part of the first layer, the secondary windings being located corresponding to a position of the primary winding, and a cross section for coupling the second windings with each other.
