A flexible rechargeable battery includes: a first conductive substrate; a second conductive substrate facing the first conductive substrate; and a sealant at edges of the first conductive substrate and the second conductive substrate. The first conductive substrate includes a first resin layer, a first barrier layer, a second resin layer, a first electrode current collector layer, and a first electrode coating layer that are sequentially stacked inward from a first side of the flexible rechargeable battery. The second conductive substrate includes a third resin layer, a second barrier layer, a fourth resin layer, a second electrode current collector layer, and a second electrode coating layer that are sequentially stacked inward from a second side of the flexible rechargeable battery.

A battery includes a conductive substrate, the conductive substrate including a first resin layer, a barrier layer, a second resin layer, a first electrode current collector layer, and a first electrode coating layer that are sequentially stacked inward from an outermost side of the battery, an exterior member disposed to face the conductive substrate, a sealing portion formed at edges of the conductive substrate and the exterior member, and at least one second inner electrode positioned between the conductive substrate and the exterior member and stacked using a separator as a border.

A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly formed by repeatedly stacking first and second electrodes while interposing a separator therebetween, the first and second electrodes each having an uncoated region and a coated region; and a case having a flexible property and accommodating the electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes a fixing portion where the separator is attached and fixed to the uncoated regions of the first and second electrodes.

A rechargeable battery is provided which includes a stacked electrode assembly in a pouch where the electrode assembly changes in length due to an applied bending stress. According to an exemplary embodiment, a rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a separator, and a second electrode stacked together and the first electrode, the separator, and the second electrode being fixed with respect to each other by a fixed part at one side of the electrode assembly; and a flexible case accommodating the electrode assembly therein, wherein a gap between a free end of the electrode assembly and an inner surface of the case to accommodate a change in length of the electrode assembly at the free end when the electrode assembly is bent.

A rechargeable battery is disclosed. In one aspect, the battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a separator, and a second electrode stacked together, wherein the first electrode, the separator, and the second electrode are fixed at a fixing portion on a first side of the electrode assembly. A case accommodates the electrode assembly; and first and second electrode tabs are respectively connected to the first and second electrodes and extend from a first end portion of the case so as to form a tab gap therebetween. Each of the first and second electrode tabs includes first and second adhesive portions opposing each other, at least one wire having a bent portion interconnecting the first and second adhesive portions, and an insulating member covering the bent portion.

Disclosed herein is a rechargeable battery capable of maintaining alignment among a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator of an electrode assembly even in the case in which a form thereof is changed or bent. The rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly formed by stacking a first electrode, a separator, and a second electrode, and having an alignment groove formed therein; a case having flexibility and accommodating the electrode assembly therein; and an alignment guide protruding from the case and partially coupled to the alignment groove so as to accommodate and guide a change in a length of the electrode assembly depending on bending.

Provided is a positive active material, a positive electrode including the positive active material, a lithium battery, and a manufacturing method of the same. The positive active material includes a core including a lithium nickel composite oxide and a coating layer formed on the core. The coating layer improves structural stability of the positive active material. Accordingly, lifespan properties of a lithium battery including the positive active material may be improved.

A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including first electrodes; separators; and second electrodes, wherein the first electrodes, separators, and second electrodes are laminated together and are fixed by a fixing portion at one side; a case, which is flexible, accommodating the electrode assembly, and pressure-adjusted after sealing; a marginal region between a free end of the electrode assembly and an inside surface of the case; and a spacing portion at the marginal region midway along the case, the spacing portion having a space that is narrower than a case thickness, the spacing portion accommodating changes in a length of the free end of the electrode assembly.

A rechargeable battery includes: a case; a first electrode assembly accommodated in the case; and second and third electrode assemblies accommodated in the case at positions adjacent to the case with the first electrode assembly being disposed therebetween. The second and third electrode assemblies have thicknesses different from that of the first electrode assembly.
