An aerosol-generating device includes a heater configured to heat an aerosol-generating material, a puff detection sensor configured to detect puffs of a user, a battery configured to supply power to the heater, and a controller configured to: based on a new puff being detected by the puff detection sensor, count a number of accumulated puffs including the new puff, determine a puff section corresponding to the number of accumulated puffs from among a plurality of puff sections which are divided according to the number of accumulated puffs, and control the power supplied to the heater based on a power range preset for the determined puff section.

An aerosol-generating apparatus according to an embodiment may include a plurality of chambers configured to accommodate a flavoring material; a rotating body configured to rotate the plurality of chambers; a coil antenna arranged such that an inductance of the coil antenna is changed by rotation of the rotating body; an inductive sensor configured to detect, the inductance and identify a rotation amount and a rotation direction of the rotating body based on a change in the inductance; and a processor configured to identify a chamber in use from among the plurality of chambers, based on the rotation amount and the rotation direction of the rotating body.

An aerosol-generating apparatus includes a vaporizer configured to generate an aerosol by heating an aerosol-generating material, a chamber configured to rotate with respect to the vaporizer and store a flavoring material such that the aerosol generated in the vaporizer passes through the flavoring material, an input portion configured to rotate according to a user manipulation and cause the chamber to rotate along, an input circuit including a rotating device coupled to the input portion to rotate with the input portion, and a plurality of connecting devices configured to generate a signal based on a position of the rotating device such that one of the plurality of connecting devices corresponding to a position of the rotating device generates a changed signal, and a processor configured to perform a function corresponding to a connecting device that has generated the changed signal among the plurality of connecting devices.

An aerosol generating device includes: a liquid storage configured to store an aerosol generating material; a first residual amount detection sensor and a second residual amount detection sensor respectively arranged on a first inner surface and a second inner surface that face each other among inner surfaces of the liquid storage; a third residual amount detection sensor and a fourth residual amount detection sensor respectively arranged on a third inner surface and a fourth inner surface of the liquid storage that face each other and are different from the first inner surface and the second inner surface of the liquid storage; and a controller configured to measure a remaining amount of the aerosol generating material based on a first detected value output by the first residual amount detection sensor and a second detected value output by the second residual amount detection sensor.
