Apparatus and method for treating a material web, which has at least one nip through which the material web is guided and which is formed between a first revolving, heated surface and a second revolving surface, it being possible for the first surface to be heated to at least 120&#xb0; C. and both surfaces in the nip having the same direction of movement as the material web. Good surface quality of the material web is obtained by providing a box which bounds a space through which the material web is guided, the space being arranged after the first or after the last nip in the direction of movement of the web.

Apparatus for treating a material web after a nip

A calender arrangement for calendering a material web, in particular a paper web, having a shoe roll and a mating roll, between which an extended nip is formed, through which the material web can be guided. The shoe roll includes a revolving shell, which is fixed to two rotatably mounted terminating elements arranged at the ends and can be loaded in the direction of the mating roll via a press shoe matched to the outside of the mating roll. The shell includes a radially inner base layer and an adjacent, radially outer functional layer. The base layer includes a resilient matrix material reinforced by embedded fibers, and the functional layer includes a matrix material with a lower fiber content than the base layer.

Calender arrangement

A device treats a fiber stock suspension with at least one additive, the fiber stock suspension being used for production of at least one of paper and cardboard. The fiber stock suspension includes a suspension medium and a fiber material. The fiber material has fiber surfaces, the fiber surfaces being moistened by the suspension medium. The device includes a fluffer having an inlet for receiving at least one of the fiber stock suspension and the at least one additive. The fluffer is coupled to the inlet, the fluffer being configured for separating the fiber material and enlarging a specific surface of the fiber surfaces.

Process and a fluffer device for treatment of a fiber stock suspension

For a process and an apparatus for loading fibers contained in a pulp suspension with calcium carbonate, a calcium oxide and/or a medium containing calcium hydroxide is fed to the pulp suspension, and the so treated pulp suspension is further charged in several reactors with pure carbon dioxide or a medium containing carbon dioxide. The reactors can be connected in series and/or in parallel.
