A sorting device comprises a support member for supporting and transporting an article. The support member is drivable in a conveying direction. The sorting device also comprises a loading station at which at least an article can be loaded to the support member, and an unloading station at which at least an article can be removed from the support member. The unloading station is provided with a plurality of receivers for receiving an article that is removed from the support member. The receivers are arranged transversely with respect to the conveying direction and disposed such that they are below the support member when the support member is at the unloading station. Furthermore, the sorting device comprises a controller for directing an article that is supported and transported by the support member to a selected one of the receivers.

An apparatus includes a frame having a guide, a transport unit including a support tray and a drive to transport the transport unit with respect to the frame. The transport unit includes a pushing member displaceable with respect to the tray transversely with respect to a transporting direction. The pushing member includes a pushing portion that pushes against a product on the tray and an actuator which is guidable along the guide such that the pushing portion displaces with respect to the tray upon moving the transport unit in the transporting direction when the actuator contacts the guide. The pushing portion is resiliently connected to the frame when the actuator contacts the guide under operating conditions. The damping factor of the connection has such a low value that the process of compression/expansion of the resiliency at least partly occurs within a period of contact of the actuator and the guide.

Apparatus for transport and controlled discharge of products

An apparatus for buffering products comprises at least three buffer conveyors arranged in series, which can be driven independently of each other, a first buffer conveyor which can be connected to supply device for supplying products and a last buffer conveyor which can be connected to discharge device for discharging the products, wherein the buffer conveyors are so arranged that each of the products follows the same conveying path and that at least one of the buffer conveyors comprises a spiral path.

A sorting apparatus for sorting products comprises an endless conveying element comprising a support surface. The support surface makes an angle with a horizontal plane, at least at the location of the outlets, about an axis parallel to the conveying direction. The sorting apparatus further comprises locking elements arranged one behind the other, as seen in the conveying direction, which move along synchronously with the conveying element and which can be unlocked independently of each other, which locking elements function to hold the products in place on the support surface. Upon activation of a selected unlocking mechanism, a product is moved downwards from the conveying element towards the outlet under the influence of the force of gravity being exerted thereon.

Sorting apparatus

A conveyor for conveying piece goods or the like through a helical path around a central axis in a vertical direction includes a frame which supports an endless conveyor belt that is movable along the helical path in a conveying direction. The conveyor belt includes carrier plates which are movably connected to each other. The frame includes at least a guide and at least a number of carrier plates comprise at least a guide roller rotatable about an axis of rotation. The guide roller has at least a first guide roller surface which is in contact with the guide in a first contact location, and a second guide roller surface which is in contact with the guide in a second contact location. The first and second contact locations are spaced from each other and the normal to the first guide roller surface in the first contact location deviates from the normal to the second guide roller surface in the second contact location. The invention provides a conveyor with a high driving efficiency as a consequence of low resistance between the carrier plate and the guide.

An apparatus for transport and controlled discharge of a load has a frame with a guide for a series of displaceable transport containers, a drive unit for carrying the containers in an endless track, a resetting device for placing a container in a starting position and discharge station for selectively relieving a container of a load. The containers have an at least partially movable carrying panel for receiving the load thereon, including a tray which can be operated selectively between a transporting and discharge positions. The guide provides on either side of the containers a support surface on which the containers support with free-running wheels. On at least one side of the containers the support surface displays a convexity in a direction transversely of the transport direction with an apex on which a running surface of at least one wheel is received.

Apparatus and transport container for transport and controlled discharge of a load

An apparatus includes a frame with a guide for at least one displaceable transport container, a drive element for carrying the container in an endless track, a resetting device for placing a container in a starting position and a discharge station for selectively relieving a container of a load. The containers are provided with a movable carrying panel for receiving the load, including at least two tilt trays which extend between tilt axes located on both sides. The trays can be selectively titled between a transporting position and a discharge position, and are provided with a locking mechanism for locking the trays in the transport position. The resetting device is adapted to co-act with a passing opened container to place the trays thereof in the transport position, and the discharge station is able to selectively unlock the locking mechanism of a passing transport container to thus release the trays.
