A blow device for weft threads in weaving machines, in particular a blow device which makes use of a nozzle of the type which consists of a housing, a thread guide duct extending through the housing and a first or main blower situated in the housing and working with the thread guide duct to transport a weft thread to the shed of the weaving machine. The nozzle has a second or threading blower also situated in the housing that cooperates with the thread guide duct for threading the nozzle. The second blower has at least one blow duct which intersects the thread guide duct at an angle so as to thrust a weft thread presented at the entry of the thread guide duct through the thread guide duct when supplied with air. A central system deactivates the main blower when the threading blower is activated.

A method for supplying weft threads to the weft of a weaving machine includes the steps of leading the thread successively through two thread accumulators, one of which is a prewinder which at each insertion releases a length of thread equal to the thread length required, and the second of which is a thread accumulator which has a lower draw-off resistance than the prewinder, and which provides a thread accumulation consisting of at least a part of the length of thread released from the prewinder. An apparatus for implementing the above method includes the above-mentioned two accumulators and control means for controlling thread insertion nozzles and also a thread clip on the low-resistance accumulator which determines the beginning of insertion and a magnetic pin on the prewinder which controls the end of insertion.

A thread clip including a clamping mechanism (1) consisting of a first jaw (2) and a second jaw (3); a spring mechanism (4) which presses the clamping mechanism jaws (1) together; an electromagnetic device (5) which can open the clamping mechanism against the force of the above-mentioned spring mechanism (4); a cam mechanism (6) which can close the clamping mechanism (1) against the force of the electromagnetic device (5); and a mechanism (7) which on closing of the clamping mechanism (1) by means of the cam mechanism (6) presses the different elements of the clamping mechanism (1) against each other with a certain clamping force.

An apparatus for fluidly injecting a weft thread into the shed of a weaving loom with increased force exerted on the weft thread consists of a main injection nozzle and a fluid jet injection tube of predetermined length and constant cross section diameter fixed coaxially to the exit passage of the nozzle, with the tube having a plurality of fluid outlet openings positioned in groups, with the openings located symmetrically to the axis of the tube and with the openings of each group intersecting a single plane to permit and symmetrical of the equal egress fluid from the tube through each of the openings.

A weft accumulating method and assembly of a weaving loom for accumulating a lenght of weft thread to be inserted into a shed by a pick insertion assembly of the loom in which the accumulator comprises a weft supply; includes a drawing off device off a predetermined length of weft thread from the supply; at least one perforated cylindrical tube; a fluid blowing device to blow the drawn off weft through the tube; and a clamping device to open and close the end of the tube to accumulate weft thread in the tube when the device is closed and to supply the weft thread to the pick insertion assembly when the device is open.

Weft accumulating method and assembly for weaving machines

An auxiliary nozzle for an air jet loom is configured as straight tubule closed and tapered blade-like at its free end and moveable with the loom batten into and out of the formed sheds. At least one blow aperture near the closed end of the tubule is provided in the shape of a slot extending essentially transverse to the tubule axis. The slot has a width not exceeding 0.8 mm and lateral walls configured so that the least or critical cross-section is bounded at least on one side by an edge having a thickness not exceeding 0.2 mm. If one edge is provided, it is located on the lower side of the slot toward the air supply and away from the closed end of the tubule. Various aperture configurations are disclosed.

Process for unwinding a thread from a reel in looms, wherein the thread (6) is guided through a thread guide (4) placed behind the reel, characterized thereby that the distance (L) between said thread guide (4) and said reel (3) is adjusted automatically mainly during the weaving process.
