Several embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to medical visualization systems that comprise combinations of disposable and reusable components, such as catheters, functional handles, hubs, optical devices, etc. Other embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to features and aspects of an in-vivo visualization system that comprises an endoscope having a working channel through which a catheter having viewing capabilities is routed. the catheter may obtain viewing capabilities by being constructed as a vision catheter or by having a fiberscope or other viewing device selectively routed through one of its channels. The catheter is preferably of the steerable type so that the distal end of the catheter may be steered from its proximal end as it is advanced with the body. A suitable use for the in-vivo visualization system includes but is not limited to diagnosis and/or treatment of the duodenum, and particularly the biliary tree.

In-vivo visualization system

A medical device may include a handle having a handle lumen extending therethrough. The medical device further may include a first body shaft including a first body shaft lumen in direct communication with the handle lumen and an RF electrode tip may be positioned at a distal end of the first body shaft. The RF electrode tip may include a lumen extending therethrough and in direct communication with the lumen of the first body shaft. Additionally, an energy delivery wire may be electrically coupled with the RF electrode tip.

Systems and methods for tissue coagulation

A method for identifying material to be removed from a patient may use an imaging device, a display, a control unit, and an insertion device. The method may include obtaining a first set of image data from the imaging device, sending the first set of image data to the control unit from the imaging device, and analyzing the first set of image data based on at least one of a darkness, a contrast, or a saturation. The method may include generating a coded image identifying the material to be removed from the patient to be displayed on the display. The method may further include displaying the coded image on a first screen of the display, and indicating the material to be removed with the insertion device based on the displayed coded image.

Medical systems and related methods

A fluid management system includes a pump configured to pump fluid through the system at a fluid flow rate. The system includes a processor including a user interface, the user interface allowing a user to input a set of system operating parameters, the processor being configured to control the pump to maintain a target fluid flow rate based on the set of system operating parameters. The system further includes a scope device coupled to the pump to deliver the fluid to a target surgical site, the scope device including an elongated shaft extending from a distal end thereof, the elongated shaft including at least one sensor, the at least one sensor transmitting sensor data relating to the target surgical site to the processor. The processor automatically signals to the pump to adjust the fluid flow rate based on the sensor data.

Devices and methods for trimming a stent to a desired length with an outer tube and an inner tube having a distal end and a diameter configured to receive a portion of the stent in excess of the desired length. The inner tube may move within the outer tube and the distal end may include an end effector configured to trim the portion from the stent while the device and stent are within a patient.

In one embodiment, a medical device includes a delivery tool having a carrier member, and a cartridge. The cartridge is coupled to the delivery tool. The cartridge defines an opening. The cartridge is configured to retain an anchor defining a lumen. The carrier member has a retracted configuration and an extended configuration. The carrier member is configured to extend through the lumen defined by the anchor and through the opening defined by the cartridge when the cartridge is coupled to the delivery tool and the carrier member is in its extended configuration.

Insertion devices, anchors, and methods for securing an implant

A medical device includes an energy delivery device. The energy delivery device has an elongate member, a first arm extending from the elongate member and a second arm extending from the elongate member. The first arm is configured to move with respect to the second arm. The energy delivery device includes an energy element. The energy element is configured to delivery energy to a portion of a filament when the filament is disposed between the first arm and the second arm. The energy device includes an actuation member. The actuation member is configured to move the first arm with respect to the second arm in response to the actuation member being actuated. The actuation member is operatively coupled to the energy element such that the energy element is activated in response to the actuation member being actuated.

In one embodiment, a medical device includes a first arm portion, a second arm portion and a base portion. The first arm portion has an inner surface and an outer surface. The second arm portion has a tissue piercing portion at a distal end, an inner surface and an outer surface. The base portion extends between the first arm portion and the second arm portion. A distance between the inner surface of the first arm portion and the inner surface of the second arm portion defines a depth of penetration into a tissue of a patient.

A device or scope device is disclosed. The device may comprise: a handle body extending along an axis between first end and a second end; an actuator at the first end of the handle body; a catheter at the second end of the handle body; and a processing unit communicable with a plurality of devices to: switch-in the actuator for control of one device of the plurality of devices; configure, with the actuator, a setting of the one device, control, with the actuator, the one device based on the setting, and switch-in the actuator for control of another one of the plurality of devices. In one embodiment, a medical device includes a needle and a catch. The catch has a body portion. The body portion of the catch defines a cavity. The catch is configured to be coupled to the needle such that at least a portion of the needle is disposed within the cavity.

Devices and methods for securing an implant

In one embodiment, an implant includes a support member configured to be placed within a body of a patient and provide support to a portion of the body of the patient, a tether coupled to an end portion of the support member; and an anchor configured to be disposed within a tissue of the body of the patient to help retain the implant in place within the body of the patient. The tether is coupled to the anchor such that the tether may move with respect to the anchor in a first direction but is retrained from moving in a second direction. In one embodiment, a method of placing an implant within a body of a patient includes making an incision in the body of the patient, inserting the implant into the body of the patient through the incision, placing the implant within the body of the patient such that a support member provides support to a portion of the body and an anchor helps retain the implant in place within the body of the patient, closing the incision, and adjusting the tension of the implant after closing the incision.
