In a sonar-based transducer system, single or multiple transducers may collect and transmit data to a management module for analysis to optimize and/or control a process. Secondary sensors may provide additional product data for analysis. Historical data may be stored in a data library for future reference. Real time data may be transmitted to a control center via a virtual dashboard.

Sonar transducer system and method of processing data

A sonar transducer mounted on a probe inserted in a vessel or container emits a sonar wave for measuring the level of fluid interfaces within the vessel or container. The sonar transducer includes a housing closed by a diaphragm at one end. A piezoelectric crystal located within the housing is biased against the diaphragm and is electrically connected to an energizing source. The travel time of the sonar wave emitted by the piezoelectric crystal and reflected by the fluid interfaces is measured. The sonic wave measurements are communicated to a microprocessor and the levels of the liquid interfaces within the vessel or container are calculated.

Sonar transducer

An ultrasonic transducer having a unique design that can withstand changes in temperature and pressure and will operate in corrosive environments. The transducer is used to detect the distance to an object being measured. The device includes a diaphragm from which is emitted a focused ultrasonic wave. The diaphragm and a capsule housing are machined from a single piece of metal and does not use adhesives or welded joints. The capsule housing is also filled with silicone oil and provided with a flexible annular ridge, both of which enhance its operation and improve signal transfer. A crystal centering seal extends 75%-90% the thickness of the crystal. A method for creating a negative internal pressure provides for improved ultrasonic wave propagation.
